We stayed for one night in the garden room in the hotel and while overall it was nice, the hotel and facilities are a bit run down. The distressed look has been created on all the woodwork and the overall effect they appear to be going for is shabby chic but in places it is genuine distress and genuine shabby!...

Had a laugh with friends. 6 of us stayed in 3 of the cabins (Night Sky, Eros and Treasure). Lovely themed cabins by some pigs and Alpaca (didn't disturb us at all). Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working but it was a bit chilly and they had let us know beforehand (with an option to rearrange the dates. Cabins were...

We visited Abels Harp on the recommendation of a family member who had glamped there a couple of times. We only went for afternoon tea but I doubt if we would make the journey again to either eat or glamp. Our initial impression on approaching was one of a degree of neglect - a bit more shabby than chic. This...

First off, this location is stunning. Set right against a hillside, the glamping facilities overlooked the valley which was simply beautiful. It's important with this review to remember that it is about camping. Yes you get a bed and four walls around you, but it's nothing of profound luxury. The pod was clean and that's what I was mostly concerned...

My partner and I came for a one night glamping stay this Easter. I got a deal on Wowcher and it was really good value. Our hut was 'Eros' and it was lovely and clean, little biscuits on arrival, little glass of brandy too a lot of thought had gone into it. The views are absolutely amazing, we came on...

I decided to stay over night before a ride and came across this little surprise of a place, Vintage shabby sheek sort of feel , very clean , staff are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was a cracker too. It is a quite a quirky place I must say but if you see through that it is a nice place to...

We made a booking two months ago for afternoon tea with one gluten free as the website advertised this option. This is a 75th birthday treat for my mother who avoids gluten. We got a phone call two nights before informing us they no longer do gluten free and have amended the website accordingly. Very poor customer care - we...

Just returned from a 2 night glamping break at abel's Harp in Shropshire. What a beautiful place the views are magnificent although you do need a car very narrow roads. The staff are friendly and the full English breakfast was lovely. If you feel like trying something new try glamping clean double bed and electricity with outstanding views. Thank you...

After reading some reviews I was quite worried that we were going to have a unhappy stay...but I must say we thoroughly enjoyed the three night break. The location was perfect middle of nowhere and fantastic views, on arrival we were shown to our room which was nicely decorated and clean. We were asked to order breakfast and if we...

We were bought a over night stay with hot tub in a log cabin for a Christmas present by our son. When we arrived we wandered into the hotel looking for someone to speak to. To our surprise one of the staff pushed past us with out a word and disappeared outside, we stood and waited, the member of staff...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abel's Harp is a small vintage style hotel and licensed wedding venue set in five acres of beautiful Shropshire countryside. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with fantastic views. All rooms are en-suite and individually themed. There is an on site restaurant, bar and gallery. It is a relaxed and quirky hotel and is an excellent place to stay if you want to visit Welsh Pool, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Powys Castle or to walk The Stiperstones or Long Mynd. We also specialise in bespoke weddings particularly in vintage, festival and country style weddings where parties can benefit from the land, views and creativity of the hotels design. We have two licensed ceremony areas one inside and one outside in our courtyard garden. Our food is a mix of dishes with a quirky twist, we like to think we have something on our menu for everyone. Our afternoon tea is also a real treat with its hand-made cake pops and Alice in Wonderland themed biscuits, a mix of finger sandwiches and scones and a variety of cakes. We really want all of our guests to have a great time and appreciate the time and effort of those who have given us feedback on Trip Advisor, we are proud to have a certificate of excellence. ... more   less
