Looked nice and cosy from the outside so dropped in on the off chance without booking. The hostess was most accommodating, even though fully booked she still squeezed us in. Food was beautiful especially the vegetarian option spinach and feta strudel. Possibly the best vegetarian experienced in a restaurant . Desserts were to die for. Staff were very pleasant and...

We ate at the Golden cross last night. The food was delicious and the host was very welcoming. Our Australian friends were very impressed by the meal and the atmosphere. British food at its best. We will be visiting again soon.

Superb food and service. Amazing ambience. Never disappoints. The owner is always accommodating, nothing too much trouble and will go out of her way to make sure everything is perfect for your needs. A favourite meeting place in a quiet back street away from the usual hustle, bustle and noise!

Ate here last night it was busy and bustling with people always a good sign. The food is a very high standard albeit small portions which is good if you enjoy 3 courses which we did. The hosts are excellent in explaining the menu and recommendations. Brilliant customer service. Will definately eat here again.

Busy Saturday night but the manager/owner still found a space for us after a wait in his delightful and unique lounge area. Décor was first rate, unobtrusive blues music, and attentive staff all made for a great evening. and the food was superb. Would highly recommend and will be my first choice whenever in Shrewsbury.

I have eaten in this restaurant many times in the past , mainly Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price for 3 courses ( 14-99 pounds ). Imagine my surprise when today 3 of us booked for the set lunch only to find it has been scrapped and The Roast Beef cost more than the 3 courses of the past...
