Our first reaction on arrival was that by chance we had found a really nice comfortable B&B. The room and en suite were excellent as was the view over the garden and the canal. The walk into the city is pleasant and takes about ten minutes. Parking is no problem as guests are provided with a pass. We didn't stay...

How grossly unfair that first review is. I don't know what some people expect! From booking to arriving, to leaving, we found Tolley Cottage comfortable, elegant and really well placed, away from the bustle of the city centre yet only a ten minute walk (for two thirty-somethings) from the abbey, via a charming stretch of canal. The room (twin room...

Two of us went to the Christmas Market at Bath, and, using Sawdays, chanced upon this wonderful property. The owners Judy and James were warm and welcoming and absolutely delightful to chat to. They were attentive to us and our fellow guests. The breakfast was delicious, cooked to our order, and very plentiful. Our room, the twin 'Grey' room, was...

This is one of the 2 best B & B's in Britain. It's like being invited home to stay with the Duke and Duchess in their private house. they organise the parking, which is very difficult in Bath, and the rooms with a view over the garden towards the canal are a class of their own. Wish I had more...

I rarely stay in B&B's as I find it a bit disconcerting staying in other people's homes. My husband and I made an exception with Tolley Cottage as it came highly recommended, and we were pleasantly surprised. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate, with a pretty view over the canal. The standard really was that of a top class hotel.The...

We booked a two night stay with friends to celebrate birthdays and our anniversary, and found James and Judy to be the perfect hosts. We were given a very warm welcome, which relaxed us into the weekend immediately. The spotlessly clean bedrooms and bathrooms, overlooking the canal are very comfortable. There was a generous choice of teas, coffees, chocolates and...

The stay at Tolley Cottage made Bath an even more special place to visit. James and Judy are great host/hostess even carrying our heavy luggage up to the third floor twin bed room with a spectacular view of all of Bath. The canal behind the B & B and the short cut down to the main part of the city...

We arrived at Tolley Cottage and weren't sure what to expect since the street view is not that exciting. But once inside we were in heaven. Our room had a lovely view of the Avon canal and had everything we could need, tv, biscuits, brandy, maps and tourist info, and a fantastic bathroom. There is a path that leads from...

Good grief - Harsh or what? My husband and I have have just returned from Tolley cottage where we stayed whilst we enjoyed a 'Christmas market' weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the proximity of the property perfect for access to the city, (free parking- permit provided by J &J) a lovely bright frosty walk accross the canal and...

We have just returned from a two night stay at Tolley Cottage. James and Judy were the perfect hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. Tolley Cottage is in a fantastic location backing on to the canal and is only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bath. The property is immaculate and furnished to a very high standard....

“The twin room was the only one available (but then we were only in Bath for a one night weekend stay so we were extremely lucky to get that.) Great characterful attic room, but mind your head in the corners!”
