I thought I'd found a secret floor when the lift opened on the 3rd floor. Felt like noone had been that high for years. The difference between the ground and 3rd floor was major. 3rd was very run down. The rest of the hotel was good, nice bar and restaurant.

This struck me as the sort of hotel favoured by elderly guests on coach tours. We are in our 50s but we're by far the youngest couple at breakfast! This is not a criticism, other than it means the hotel is stuck in a time warp with dated and tired decor. Our room was clean but nothing special. Service was...

We stayed at this Hotel for three nights arriving on Friday evening and leaving Monday mid morning. The hotel is like a Georgian Manor House in appearance with 53 rooms over 4 floors many of which have been updated to a high standard fully carpeted with king sized bed, table desk with mirror over, two easy chairs, sufficient wardrobe space...

Elegant regency style hotel with large comfortable rooms. Service is excellent. All staff were very helpful. The food is ok. Varied and interesting menu. On a very steep hill but the park and ride bus stops just outside.

The building is a gorgeous early Victorian Bath Stone house which has commanding views across the valley and a small well landscaped terrace garden. We had a front view room, well worth the upgrade because we benefitted from that view. The cosy lounges and bar area were well decorated in period style with comfortable furnishings. The restaurant is a stunning...

There is much to be positive about, primarily the staff who were not just helpful but went over and above what was required. Dependant on who you booked with the room was either reasonable or somewhat pricey, £125.00 B&B. In addition a charge per day to park your car is 'penny pinching.' Having said that the rooms were warm with...

Lovely hotel and within walking distance of Bath. Rooms good and food adequate for the price paid. Staff overall were very serious and distant with no greeting or warmth about them. They were almost robotic and the lack of entertainment did not help. However for a short break this hotel is perfectly adequate. Be prepared for a hilly walk back...
