I absolutely loved everything about the YMCA, I've been staying in various hotels for the past two months or so and this is by far the best one. My favourite thing was the curtains around the bunk beds which gave me a sense of privacy and the table in the room was also very useful. Only complaint is that the...

This is the perfect place to stay if you're visiting Bath, the price is good for a student like me. The room is nice with a table and a closet, with a tv it would be perfect. Breakfast is nice and staff are very friendly people. The location is good and easy to get around. My room had a nice...

Stayed at my favourite hostel in Bath but my room smelt musty and unaired, so I asked for the single room next door - no problem. BUT I was woken in morning by an electrical sound, like a loud buzzing, which I had reported the time before and assumed had been fixed. I was told they couldn't fix it because...

I just spent a week here so can confirm it is an excellent place to stay in bath...because of the price you avoid the younger drunken crowd who head for the cheapest backpackers....the gym in the basement is fantastic value for money...the free basic breakfast is fresh n tasty...spotlessly clean and free of wierdos....Very good value for money....

I stayed here with members of my rugby team and this was the second time that I have stayed here. Really central and convenient for everywhere in town, this property is well managed and welcoming. I opted for a single room rather than a shared dorm and found the room really comfortable and had everything I needed for the one...

This was so cheap for bath a quarter of the price of any hotel, OK shared bathroom but I saw nobody there. Very clean and very friendly staff who would help me with directions. Free breakfast healthy and tasty. Will stop again.

Only stay here as a last resort. I waited to review this in case my expectation of bedding was high. After other hostels, b/bs, and hotels the bedding here is not condusive to sleeping. Very tough cot but it was clean, with a decent shared bathroom. So if you need a safe clean place choose here, just make sure to...

Stayed with my daughter in a twin room for one night to visit Bath Christmas markets. Receptionists were friendly and informative and the room was spacious and very clean. It was cold and windy outside but the hostel was lovely and warm Good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast for brekky and free unlimitless tea throughout the day/night. Would stay again :)

I booked 2 rooms as I had family visiting and wanted to spend one night in Bath en route to Stonehenge (We are in Northampton). So we got a 4 bed room (2 bunk beds) for the boys and a large family room (3 bunks and ensuite toilet with shower). The place is lovely outside with nice garden in the...

I have used this facility before. If you arrive by train you need somewhere to leave your case if you are sightseeing, You are welcomed and your case is numbered. This is much cheaper than other places (nearer the station) who try to get your trade. It is also open much later than their competitors.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our new and improved rooms will deliver a high standard comfortable hostel room for 2010. The YMCA is centrally located, just a stones throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you. The old Victorian building is at least 130 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. It also boasts a rather unusual mural on the grand main staircase. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilities throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times. Staff on the 24 hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. So we can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath. Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, with a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone or relax, sauna, sunbeds and the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet. So, if you are travelling but want to maintain your fitness program or just chill out in the sauna - we're the place for you. If you are travelling in a big group we can also offer conference facilities/meeting rooms further catering etc - just ask and we will do our best to deliver! We can accommodate over 200 people a night, so whether you are travelling alone or in a big group, old, young or with children - we have the bed for you. Alongside the warm welcome, we also offer: Continental breakfast in the price, linen included in the price, 24 hour staffed reception, Internet access, Laundry facilties, Towel Hire, No lockout/curfew, Credit/debit cards accepted, Security lockers/left luggage, Conference facilities, Fantastic health and fitness suite, City centre location, Children/families very welcome, Bike parking, No smoking, Tel/fax facilities.
