Me and my mum had a wonderful stay here. We had a double room, (two bunk beds) it was comfy, warm and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very easy access in to the city centre. Would highly recommend!

Nice hostel, but a bit far from the town centre. Beautiful building and nice area. I don't know if I would return there, maybe If I had a car. I loved the garden and tv lounge. I missed a locker room.

Thanks for leaving a review! Whilst being away from the city centre does mean a walk or bus journey down to town, we're lucky to be in such a beautiful location with wonderful views. We hope you'll take a return trip - if you loved our garden, you'll love it even more in the summer!

Bath hostel is a splendid old building in a lovely location. The staff were helpful and friendly. But my room in the Lodge was maybe a bit cramped for 4 people. (And the toilet by room 21 was not flushing properly) The first night there was a really persistent musty smell in room 21, due to another guest's sweaty jacket......

Thank you for taking the time to review us, Jon. We're glad you enjoyed the hostel and it's beautiful location, and we're sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with some of our other guests. There are occasionally downsides to shared accommodation! We do offer larger dormitory rooms, as well as private rooms in both the Lodge and...

We enjoyed this hostel very much. There was plenty of space indoors and out. Staff were very friendly. It is a steep hill back up to the hostel from town which was fine for us (children to tire out!) but might put some off.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a kind review, we're so glad you enjoyed our hostel. The hill can be a little daunting, but luckily there are regular buses for those who are tired after a busy day exploring!

Nice hostel with friendly staff. Only downside was that there appeared to be a large group of men staying who were not very considerate eg sitting next to us when we were dining watching noisy things on their phones/ smoking outside with door open so that smoke could be smelt in our bedroom...

We always try to improve your stay wherever we can, and it's always worth popping to reception to let staff know if there's a problem. We're always happy to help! We hope your trip was otherwise enjoyable! King regards, Maisie

I've stayed at this hostel with a friend for one night and enjoyed it a lot. It's only 20 minutes from the city centre (although bear in mind: you walk down a steap hill to get into the centre and have to walk back up again, but it really is not as bad as it seems) AND you've a got...

Thank you for such a kind a review! The walk up the hill can certainly take a bit of effort; I personally prefer to take the bus up! Luckily we have regular buses going to and from town, although if the weather is nice nothing beats the view on the way down! Your comments regarding the cleanliness of the common...

Nice and friendly. Good facilities. Friendly staff and friendly stayers. My membership card has not arrived yet, but it has not prevented me getting the discount on further stays. Just show your receipt tp the staff.

Many thanks for your review. Any hostel stay is improved when your fellow guests are friendly, and happy staff helps too! The membership is well worth having (£3 off per night!) and a 'temporary membership' can be issued until your card arrives. We're so glad your enjoyed your stay! Kind Regards

This YHA has family rooms but we didn't find it suitable for children. It seems that this venue is now a cheap alternative for foreign workers and other working adults. It has lost the feel of a youth hostel. We were woken at 5.00am by Spanish workers talking outside our window whilst their cigarette smoke drifted into our family bedroom....

Stayed here after a less-than-fabulous (but fun) stay at another hostel in London, and these were my first hostel stays. Normally visit hotels or rent villas when traveling. The historic building is gorgeous, well-maintained (a leaking ceiling was scheduled for repair as I left), and faultless ly clean. Stayed in a single-gender 6-bed room which *still* felt spacious enough. The...

Great to stay at Bath YHA again. Food excellent and hard to believe dinner and breakfast cooked to order. I walked up steep hill in the dark from station along edge of fields relying on a distant memory as couldn't find walking only driving info on line. Had to leave sharpish not having finished breakfast off so I have a...

Thanks for a great review! We're glad you enjoyed our meals - your feedback has been passed along to our kitchen team. They always like to know that they're doing a great job! The hostel can indeed be difficult to locate, but we're always happy to help out with directions if our guests are a little lost on their way...
