Stayed here with my 5 year old son. He loved the building and gardens. Self catering facilities were great. Room and shower were small but thats what you can expect from a hostel. Wifi was good in the lounge room. It is a really nice walk down the hill to town - took us about 15 - 20 minutes, great...

Many thanks for your detailed review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We always recommend the buses for coming back up the hill (U1 or U18 from outside the Abbey or bus station), but the walk down is great for views across Bath and to Beckfords Tower.

Historic main building, well located, great staff and amenities. 7 middle aged ladies enjoyed staying in two rooms both with ensuites. It's true it is noisy especially door slamming and very loud plumbing in the annexe but it is a YHA so was really good value for money.

Premises nice. Reception staff lovely rooms bog standard. Duty manager a bully. Gave us a warning for being noisy. when asked what room was being noisy he said different room numbers to what we was in. In my opinion being victimised for being a group

Many thanks for your review. We welcome groups of all shapes and sizes to YHA Bath, as well as families and individual travellers. Like all hostels we ask that guests keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. I am sorry you felt singled out by the manager on shift during your stay and would like to discuss this further with...

The location of this youth hostel is lovely. Hid away from the noisy road, up a nice green hill. Parking is on main road. The lady at reception was lovely and even though we were early, she let us put our stuff in the room as it was already clean. We were a group of 11 so we had two...

It's a hostel; don't expect hotel facilities. I spent 3 nights in a 6-women bunk room, and we had 4-6 women each night. Lockable cabinets in the room for storing backpack. Cleanest hostel I've stayed in, plus excellent food and beautiful building/grounds! Plenty of hot water in the shower. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but enjoyed coffee &...

We spent one night in an ensuite family room which had 4 comfy bunks, the room was clean, one of the top bunks had a great view of the city, the toilet and shower were great and clean and the shower was nice and hot. The communal lounge is friendly and welcoming wth books and games. The building itself is...

Very natural setting. Not particularly close to town given the hill but there is super easy public transport that is super cheap and frequent!!!! Staff were kind and very helpful. I'd like if maybe they had a bit of history of the building that would be fascinating.

Thanks for the lovely review, we're glad you enjoyed your stay. We don't have much history on the building, but we do know that it was built around 1848 by Henry Goodridge, who also designed the local Beckfords Tower. YHA took over the building in 1953!

Spent 2 nights in YHA Bath in their lodge boy oh boy. My mother in law stayed in room 26 small dingy room with deep burgundy that doesn't help the lack of lighting in the room. The room is next to the front door to the lodge which slams and bangs at all times of the day and night. Tried...

Many thanks for leaving for your review. Following your feedback to me on your day of departure, the points you raised regarding the loud doors and drainage in Room 26 were rectified immediately. We have also ordered bed lights for that room now - as you pointed out, it is the only room in the Lodge building without bed lights....
