Harry said that they are still learning, well many hotels could learn from them. Accommodation is superb, lovely room with great touches throughout. Breakfast around a large table where experiences can be shared was far better than the usual individual tables. Well prepared food, excellent company. Harry gave us great tips for our short trip to Bath. We will return!

heading last week to Hill House we were full of high expectations, having read the reviews, heading home now we can confirm all expectations met and several exceeded. My fiancee picked Hill House so we could spend a weekend in Bath for my birthday. The room we got was spacious and clean, the breakfast had a varied menu to suit all needs, but most of all the service from Harry & Douglas was exceptional. I can say the stay at Hill House made it a memorable birthday break,...

Everything about the B&B is first class, Harry, one of the hosts was excellent, so helpful. The tea and biscuits on arrival was such a lovely gesture. The room was clean, well furnished and spacious. Breakfast was excellent.

First of all Harry (one of the hosts) is one of a kind! He is very helpful and gave us lots of information what to do in and around Bath. When we left early in the morning to go to Stonehenge he prepared us yummy bagles, croissants and provided us with a coffee pot to brew some coffee to get...

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and were very happy with our choice. It really does deserve it's Trip advisor number one spot! As always, I feel that I should start with the negatives. I am pleased to say there is only one (and a half) The bed, although of good quality, was much firmer than we were used...

We stayed for two nights at Hill House. We were greeted very warmly with a pot of tea and biscuits. We asked for advice about what to do and where to eat and Harry was extremely helpful, showing us where everything was on the map. All of his suggestions were spot-on. The room was attractive, spotless, and very comfortable, and...

First-rate all around including Doug helping us with parking and unloading our car upon arrival, Harry cheerfully serving savory breakfasts, and receiving helpful recommendations. We also loved the great shower in our room and the tasteful art and decorations throughout the house.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our home! Hill House was built in 1765 at the end of a Georgian terrace behind the Assembly rooms in Central Bath. Built originally as a hotel it later became a wine merchants and then a pub. The current owners purchased the property in 2011 and have updated the property throughout. The modernisation has been sympathetically undertaken to retain as much of the period of charm of the property as possible. The property now has six en suite letting rooms located one at the front and one at the back on each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the property. All bedrooms are equipped with newly appointed shower rooms, 32” digital Televisions, hairdryers and free wifi. The more the stairs the better the views from the rooms across Bath to the countryside beyond!Breakfast is served in our dining room on one large table, where reccomendations of what to see and where to eat are shared. Besides a choice of cereals etc we also offer a choice of two cooked breakfasts per day which vary throughout the week. We are able to cater for most dietary requirements but ask for as much notice as possible as we do not carry some items as stock as we are only a small establishment. This is our home and we want you to be able to relax in it. We have ironing facilities and a house sewing kit to hand. If you need anything else please ask and we will see what we can do.Hill House is a 2 minute walk from the Assembly Rooms and five minutes from the main shopping centre and Royal Crescent. There are plenty of local places to eat and drink close by and we would be happy to give recommendations upon request. On street Parking permits are available but will need to be reserved. ... more   less
