OK I didn't stay here, but I certainly enjoyed a local ale and a fine meal. I was taken by the character of the pub, with the slate floor and the suit of armour in the hallway. Definitely worth all 5 stars from me
My partner & I stayed here for three nights over Christmas & had a lovely time. It's an ancient building, so if you prefer modern, you might want to stay elsewhere. If you like medieval & full of character, this is the place for you....More
We popped in for a pub lunch after clambering up the Tor and could hardly walk afterwards. We both had the cod and it was like a small whale on the plate.
Great service, defo recommended in a fab old building steeped in history.
Had lunch. Fascinating place. Food excellent. Best fish and chips I have had. No frozen stuff!. Loved the age of the place. Very good staff, friendly and helpful. Take time to look around and step back 100's of years.
Great place to stay, excellent location and friendly efficient staff. I would definitely recommend the George and Pilgrims. The evening meals were tasty and the breakfast was plentiful. We were there for Halloween, the atmosphere was great.

There is a car park directly behind the hotel which we have used on a few occasions and it works out approx. £6 a day and never had a problem. Occasionally, we have used street parking but this can very limited. There are a few car parks around and we have used them and never experienced any problems. It is a great place to visit.
