We booked 11 rooms for a party and everyone said they had a great room. Ours overlooked the Cathedral, had a four poster bed and was a large room. The party was great with great food There was fre parking and the Hotel is in the centre of Wells so easy walk to Cathedral, market and shops

I think it matters that you choose which room you stay in yourself as they seem to vary enormously and I must have had the smallest room they had - and it was still quite expensive. The staff were very nice, cheery and helpful which made the time I was there very pleasant. I ate in the bar and was...

Stayed here in November for 2 nights. Hotel was decorated for Christmas and looked really festive. Excellent location and really helpful staff (one kindly printed a Tesco Boost email for me!). Our room overlooked the road and there was some noise, but not a problem. Really windy when we visited and the old windows did rattle, but we were lovely...

Can't be faulted for view-directly opposite Wells' magnificent Cathedral and other nearby attractions within this lovely quaint city. Our room was slightly cramped and bed small, though kept spotless and well maintained during our stay. The food was good, particualrly the breakfasts-there was ample choice to suit all tastes. Our visit coincided with some Christmas revellers outside on the Saturday night-quite unfortunate! The behaviour of...

Wonderful location, right opposite the magnificent cathedral. This was our 2nd visit and we were just as pleased. It is a real old fashioned, comfortable hotel with tasty well cooked food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. Parts of the hotel look a little tired, although some improvements had been made. Great value for money! Lovely start to Christmas.

This was my first stay at the Swan. The checking-in and checking-out processes were easy and the (same) member of staff paid attention to detail and was professional and friendly; they hit exactly the right balance. The wedding reception was extremely efficiently organised and the food was excellent in every respect. The staff were attentive, without being intrusive and the...

We have used Best Western hotels before, some good, some so-so, but this was definitely at the top end of the scale. It is an old coaching inn updated, and the only negative feature was the negotiation of the narrow alleyway to the car park at the rear. Our room was the one on the top floor with a view...

My mother recently had her 90th Birthday and stayed here in the Cathedral Suite. We all had dinner in the restaurant. Food was fine, not quite as good as perhaps we had hoped and service was patchy. Very young staff, one girl managed to pour quite a bit of water over the table as well as into the glass, and...

Attended christmas dinner dance for works christmas party. Had a fabulous time the tables looked stunning with decent crackers, gold party blowers and balloons on tables. The disco was brilliant and a good time was had by all. My only negative comment would be that there was a poor choice of veg with main course consisting of carrots and sprouts...
