A wonderful old house full of character, very central, just across the lake from the cathedral. Pauline was a lovely hostess but no longer does breakfast. No problem though as there are several cafes within 100 yards. Have never been to Lichfield before but it's a lovely little city that has not been spoilt by modernisation. Do visit the cathedral.

Pauline treated me like a special guest when I stayed 2 nights at the Bogey Hole. My en suite room was comfy and very economical, and only a short walk away from the Erasmus Darwin Museum, and Lichfield's wonderful cathedral -- my two main reasons for choosing Lichfield as a destination. A filling and nutritious breakfast was served my Pauline... More

We were very lucky to have been invited to a wedding at the beautiful Lichfield Cathedral, but even luckier to find this little gem of a B&B. Fantastic location, lovely unique rooms and hospitality that you couldn't match. Nothing was too much trouble, we were made so welcome. Thank you Pauline and Derrick, hope to see you again!

We're on a bit of a tour of cathedrals, hitting one a month and finding B&B's within walking distance if we can. Once you get up close to a cathedral the surrounding houses take on a settled, quirky, cosy disposition and this one is just such a gem. I don't know why it's called The Bogey Hole and neither, it... When I walked in I was taken aback by how gorgeous this B&B is, not only beautiful but also spotlessly clean and cosy. My room was spacious and everything worked perfectly (I've been in so many B&Bs where that wasn't the case) and literally everything had been provided, including a torch (!) which was hanging on the inside of the... A friend and I stumbled across this hidden Gem of a B&B when looking for accommodation in the region to break up a bit of a round-robin tour of local military museums as part of a trip to an Auction in nearby Stone the next day. And we were very glad that we did. From arrival and Pauline's insistence on... More

Like other reviewers, I wish we could have stayed more than one night here, not least because Lichfield itself has so much to offer. My wife and I needed somewhere to stay to break a long journey from Aberdeenshire to Gloucestershire. We arrived at about 20.00 and could not find Dam Street. So, we parked in the main car park... My friend and I booked a one-night stay at the Bogey Hole, loved it and really wished we could have stayed longer. We've already agreed that next time we have a get-together between our respective homes in London and near Manchester we'll not only opt for Lichfield - a really enjoyable place to visit - but choose the Bogey Hole...
