My husband whisked me away for a romantic evening a Swinfen Hall Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. The room we had was amazing, spacious, beautifully decorated with great facilities. It overlooked the gorgeous gardens. The staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The dining room is quite formal and I loved the opportunity to dress...

We came for a family lunch on a bitterly cold November day and had a wonderful time. The house is really beautiful. There were proper log fires in each of the main rooms making everywhere feel warm and comfortable. The panelled dining room was a treat The staff were lovely: welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious and well priced....

Recently stayed at Swinfen hall hotel as we had to attend a wedding close by. The hotel is amazing, it's a real touch of English class. The rooms are Grandful with so much detail. We only spent one night in the Swinfen, so it was a short stay. We spoke to the friendly staff at reception on arrival, who arranged...

Grand country house hotel around 2 miles from Lichfield. Interesting history. Dining is very expensive (£52 per person for a three course set meal) but service is immaculate and authentic. Bar meals are available with a fairly limited choice. Decent wine list, and reasonably priced.

A beautiful setting with views over the dear Park a surrounding countryside. The rooms are beautiful and well presented. The staff are very attentive with nothing being too much trouble. For our wedding anniversary we were given a voucher for afternoon tea here. Lovely old beautiful building in a beautiful scenic setting. Slightly spoilt at car park with view of metal fencing from young offenders centre - maybe could consider more foliage to hide this because otherwise no obvious signs it's there. We walked into a grand entrance and greeted...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Swinfen Hall Hotel is a beautiful Georgian manor house set in 100 acres of parkland incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, wild hay meadows and woodland. Although the hotel has been described as 'an architectural gem' and is blessed with a wealth of historic features, we also embrace the creature comforts of the here and now. Flatscreen TVs, DVD players, IPOD docking stations and free wi-fi are standard in all our bedrooms alongside bathrobes, mineral water, a good selection of guest amenities and a well-stocked hospitality tray. In addition to our AA 2-rosette Four Seasons restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner, we have a Bar and Terrace menu for light snacks and offer a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea. We also have a magnificent oak-paneled Edwardian ballroom with a raised stage and fully-sprung dance floor, which is a wonderful venue for wedding receptions, presentations and private parties. We are proud to be an AA Inspectors Choice Red Star hotel - come and visit us and see what this means. Our little oasis of peace and calm lies on the A38, two miles south of the historic city of Lichfield, ½ a mile from the M6 toll road and only 20 minutes from the heart of Birmingham. ... more   less
