A group of us go here most Thursday mornings after exercise class, for coffee etc. I must say the staff are most attentive, making sure that all our needs are met. We do love the complimentary cookies that come with the coffee. I must make special mention of one staff member who is particularly attentive and caring of our group, thank you Dee you do make our Thursdays enjoyable.
Recently visited for dinner and was well impressed. Food and service was excellent. There was a massive improvement since my last visit. Every where was clean and tidy and the signs were obvious that the business was under new management. Please keep up the good work in a pub steeped in history..well done.
Boxing Day menu, £32 per person and mouldy off vegetables, absolutely disgusting!! Waitress offered more mouldy veg but strangely wasn’t very appealing 🤦♂️ Had to be the worst value for money meal I’ve ever had and was frankly Astonished that No management offered any explanation or solution??
Highly recommend Breakfast with Santa at the D&P. Santa, Mrs Claus and all their elves went out of their way to make it a truly magical experience for all the little ones. There were lots of Christmas craft activities and the food was pretty yummy too! Thanks to all involved x
We had a lovely evening the bed was emmence the food in the evening and the breakfast was Beautiful and the staff was very helpful we had a little confusion over breakfast but that was sorted straight away we come for food quite alot but will definitely will be back for the b&b The servers parker and mandy were lovely also Thank you to all the staff for an amaing stay
A wonderful relaxed evening in beautiful surroundings. Excellent service from Mandy. Definitely recommend. Great range of beers. Just a lovely place to spend a cold evening with friends. Great vibes and the staff obviously enjoy working there.
We frequently drop in for lunch and always get a great service from the team. The lunch menu is great and as a vegetarian there are a couple of good choices (would recommend the Halloumi goujon ciabatta). The staff are really helpful and attentive and on this visit Dee/Susie served us and I can’t fault them at all. Would recommend for a drink or lunch as a great stop off in the village.
The staff are always welcoming, happy bubbly faces.. Dee Suzi and Josh (FoH) The pub is looking clean & tidy.. Highly recommended a visit when ya passing.. Food is always very good and not pricey either as well the drinks… The pub is dog friendly
This place is about as far away from the kind of identikit sterile rooms available via most big chain hotels as you can possibly get. If you like staying overnight in those beige boxes, or have accessibility issues then this is not the location for you. The whole building oozes Olde Worlde charm and the stairs to the rooms are a little steep in places, but the bedroom (s) are a real treat for anyone with an appreciation of history & you cant help but wonder who has occupied the room in the centuries before you! Modern amenities have been thoughtfully integrated without undue damage to the aesthetic and hence all the facilities you would expect are available. Breakfast is available at a remarkably reasonable rate if its not included in you room cost. Would / will undoubtedly stay again when we are back in the area.…
We stayed here as a family in room six check in was swift the manager checking us in also got us a jug of water with some ice and got us some glasses so we can have a drink. Lovely hotel really lovely old building with wooden beams, the bath was free standing and we all Loved it!! A fridge in the room again which was lovely!!! We’re really enjoyed our stay and we have booked again for November our room was a family room and it was perfect for a family of four and one toddler… they also put a cot bed in our room which I requested thank you for making us feel so welcome see you in November 25th
