Set in Suffolk countryside, our four exclusive lodges provide the perfect peaceful getaway. Relax and unwind watching the stars at night or listening to the morning birdsong while soaking in the luxurious hot tub, in your own private garden. For staying in, there's Netflix on the Smart TV and a fully equipped kitchen, plus outdoor gas barbecue and sun-loungers. Alternatively there's plenty to see and do within less than an hour's drive. Country lanes, timber-framed village streets and market towns are all nearby, whilst the attractive cities of Cambridge and Norwich are each worth a day out. The Suffolk coast is easily reached, as are the Suffolk Wool Towns, Constable Country and Thetford Forest. If you fancy a flutter then Newmarket's not far. So much to see that one visit is never enough!

Upthorpe Lodges in Stanton Suffork are the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Debbie & Ian have made sure that you have absolutely everything you need for a self catering break. The hottubs are extremely well maintained and really help ease those aches & pains away. Ideally located to explore Suffork and Norfolk. It will keep you as busy as you want to be for either a weekend or week long break.

We chose Upthorpe Lodges for our minimoon! We were so glad that we did as we enjoyed a very relaxing stay here at Cedar Lodge - we didnt want to leave! Lodges are easy to find and parking is onsite. You are seperate from the other lodges with enclosed gardens. Lovely welcome once we’d accessed the lodge, letter from the owners with flowers, prosecco, chocolates, orange juice and biscuits!! (upgraded package option) Headed straight for the hot tub which is lovely and we slept like babies the whole stay!! Lodges are well equipped, netflix on TV, facility to wash your clothes, cook and store food. Comfy bed and fluffy white towels/robes. You really are left to it, the owner comes to check the hottub but tries to do this when you arent there. The garden was stunning - lovely decking area and the flowers and shrubs are a bees paradise! We were both able to unwind here and completely chill out. There was a small leak in the shower whilst we were there but we emailed the owner and he came round asap whilst we popped to the shops and siliconed the shower and the leak stopped so no issue there. We have travelled the world and staycations havent really been on the menu for us but covid and restrictions have made us rethink a little bit! Only one small improvement from us, obvious cleanliness was brilliant, but we did notice large amounts of dust and cobwebs on the areas where books are kept and behind the sofa. Other than that - it was brilliant. We’d love to come back and try the other lodges too!!

My wife and I stayed in Birch Lodge for 3 nights at the start of April and were immediately blown away by how immaculate, modern and peaceful the accommodation is. We had planned to do many things in the local area but ended up barely leaving the lodge as it was just too nice! We spent the vast majority of our time in the hot tub which was maintained daily by Ian, who we met on arrival and was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Throughout our stay the weather was pretty awful, incredibly windy and occasional rain, yet this didn’t in any way affect how amazing our stay was.
The lodge was also very well equipped for self catering; basic supplies such as some spices, oil, pots and pans, a coffee machine, a kettle, milk in the fridge, washing up liquid, tea towels, sponges, everything was there, a lot of which we’d brought with us expecting to need them but that wasn’t the case. There were also some complimentary locally produced biscuits and orange juice, as well as a birthday banner which was a really nice touch.
Overall cannot recommend this place enough. It was ideal for me and my wife, who was 8 months pregnant at the time, to relax for a few days and celebrate my 30th birthday. We’d definitely love to go again and perhaps see more of the local area which seemed to have a lot of nice walks nearby, as well as the conveniences of a shop, pub and a fish and chip shop about a mile from the lodges!

An excellent base for our holiday combining walking in Thetford Forest and a bit of plane spotting at RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall.
Lovely clean accommodation (Oak Lodge) that is well equipped including a very nice hot tub. Very nice little garden and overall very peaceful.
Ian and Debbie were very nice hosts and we really felt that they had done their bit to help keep Coronavirus at bay with their thorough cleaning and detailed risk assessment.
Overall, highly recommended.

We first visited on the year Upthorpe Lodges opened-with just one lodge there at the time. We have stayed in their other lodges on site and all are just *wonderful* but we're just back from a restay in the original lodge and it was lovely to see how the garden has changed and grown and the adjustable shade over the hot tub and new loungers are brilliant additions to an already amazing space.
As ever, we were made very welcome, everything was just spotless and it was a home from home, with everything we needed or could have wanted, including up to date information on places to eat or visit, some local juice and handmade biscuits and some beautiful hand grown flowers in a vase.
It's the only place we even considered staying during these rather crazy times, as we knew we were in safe hands.
Thanks again and as always, Ian and Debbie. See you again next year! X

Incredible lodge to stay in, especially as a couple - the highlight is obviously the hot tub for the cold evenings! The place is secluded and private. Parking is close by, easy to find and the standard of the lodge inside was great as well with kitchen utensils and basic things such as salt and pepper, oil etc. for if you want to cook whilst there without having to think of everything to buy.
Felt the 10am check out was a tad early but not a big problem.

Thanks so much for your kind review and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks too for appreciating the little extras. We take pride in our high standards. (For each new arrival we completely refresh the hot tubs, and due to the heating time for the water, we appreciate having access from 10am.) We hope to see you again! I&D

Booked late Thursday night, arrived Saturday teatime for a 3 night stay. On arriving to find a pristine, modern, beautifully presented lodge with welcome pack of milk, juice and delicious locally made biscuits, we felt we had been extremely fortunate to find Maple Lodge available for our very last minute getaway. We found ourselves unwinding and relaxing immediately in the idyllic little oasis that Ian and Debbie have created, with each of the 4 lodges well separated and secluded in their own garden with high fences and beautiful, mature planting both within and without. Ian and Debbie were perfect hosts - welcoming, friendly and available but unobtrusive. The hard work and love that they put into this place is evident everywhere you look. The lodge is well-equipped to actually cook, and we found we had unnecessarily brought many items that have been missing in other holiday homes we've stayed in such as hand soap, washing up items and dishwasher tablets, even loo roll! There are games and books, comfy sofa and armchair, and most importantly the bed was great, lovely and comfortable (something we're very fussy about and a real deal breaker for return visits if it's not right). We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, maintained immaculately each day by Ian, perfect to chill in both before and after lovely days out. One day we headed out to Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh, the other day we were really fortunate to get a table at the Leaping Hare restaurant at nearby Wyken Vineyard - a real treat. There's so much more to explore and experience around here (if you can drag yourself away from this delightful haven) and we'd love to return.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in Oak Lodge to celebrate my 50th.
The lodges are very well thought out - they are completely private and have everything you need. I looked at lots of other places, but they felt like they were in a holiday park, whereas Upthorpe Lodges have beautifully maintained enclosed gardens, so you don't have people traipsing past while you are trying to relax.
The bed is very comfortable, the shower is powerful and the whole place is decorated to a high standard.
The hot tub is just lovely! The weather was awful when we arrived, but on my birthday the sun shone in the morning so we got straight in, what a great way to ease myself into my 50s!
I can thoroughly recommend Upthorpe Lodges for a special celebration, or maybe just a break to unwind, or to treat yourself!

Hi, thanks for considering one of our four lodges for your special occasion. It’s been a pleasure to have hosted previous couples coming here for their anniversaries, mini-moons etc, and we can provide celebration packs as a special treat. Previous guests may be able to help you choose, and you may also like to view some of the many reviews. We’d like to help you ourselves by saying that we have many guests who have returned several times, often to their same chosen lodge. Equally, we have many guests who have been to two or more lodges, with the intention of choosing a different lodge each time. I’m not sure that this will help you choose which lodge though. You’re very welcome to contact us with any specific questions you may have, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Ian & Debbie, Upthorpe Lodges
