Just a one night stay, 5 minute walk to the centre of Bury. Well run establishment, friendly, approachable, motivated, professional staff, excellent food, service and drink. Stayed in room 7 clean and tidy, my only complaint being as I am getting into old boy territory the mattress had seen better days, not good for a bad back zero support and...

Went for lunch mid-week. No problem getting a table although the place was reasonably busy. We had a sandwich which came in a homemade roll with a medium sized portion of chips. Good quality but felt it could have been marginally cheaper. Was not impressed by their own brews but there was a decent enough selection of beers and ales...

Pie was great, service was friendly from local young staff. Beer was a wee bit underwhelming/ samey and the place just seemed a bit lacking in character. Christmas party season was well under way so perhaps we didn't get the best impression.

lovely hotel for a weekend get away. Restaurant is excellent for an evening meal, and the location is perfect for exploring Bury. Breakfast options take some beating also. We will definitely be coming back soon.

It was a mid week business trip and I wanted to be close to the town centre and close to the main roads, and not a big hotel chain. The Old Cannon offers all this and more. The rooms were adjacent to the pub, I could park outside (just) and the rooms were well appointed and clean. Full Sky TV...
