We had a classic double room which is a euphemism for attic room in need of a makeover. I.e. Ceiling paper hanging down, very grubby pull cord in bathroom, dusty corner shelves in bathroom, three coat hangers in wardrobe. In addition, extremely steep stairs with very narrow treads up to room. Staff pleasant, good breakfast although 'American-style pancakes' were straight...

We booked this bed & breakfast hotel for one night, and were very pleased that we did. On arrival, we received an extremely friendly and helpful welcome and were allocated a room in the cottages adjacent to the main building. The accommodation was delightful including a kitchen area. The bedroom was tastefully decorated with some exposed vertical beams and a...

Last minute booking after we found that the place we have stayed in before was full. We found that we actually preferred this hotel and were so glad to have booked it. Interesting and historic, but still with modern comforts - warm, clean and very comfortable. We had a very nice room, with an adjoining sitting room with feature fire...

I really cannot fault this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is perfect. The room is just amazing, full of...

Good location 15 mins walk to town centre. Beautiful interiors full of period character. Really well managed, clean accommodation, the room I stayed has a stone fire place and part of it was in the bathroom. Generous provision of essential items such as shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, cotton wool, sanitary towels, tampons, tea coffee making facility, bottled water, chocolate...

The owners are the most amazing people you can meet, in fact all the team are lovely. The place is glorious, with beautifully created rooms and super furnishings. Having stayed here before, knowledge of the area and local amenities was already there, but the actual experience itself was the most important part. Thoroughly recommended.
