Last minute booking after we found that the place we have stayed in before was full. We found that we actually preferred this hotel and were so glad to have booked it. Interesting and historic, but still with modern comforts - warm, clean and very comfortable. We had a very nice room, with an adjoining sitting room with feature fire...

This was our second visit to the Abbey Hotel. We stayed in the same room as on our last visit, room number 3. This is an excellent little hotel which is ideally located for the town. I really cannot fault this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is perfect. The room is just amazing, full of...

Good location 15 mins walk to town centre. Beautiful interiors full of period character. Really well managed, clean accommodation, the room I stayed has a stone fire place and part of it was in the bathroom. Generous provision of essential items such as shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, cotton wool, sanitary towels, tampons, tea coffee making facility, bottled water, chocolate...

The owners are the most amazing people you can meet, in fact all the team are lovely. The place is glorious, with beautifully created rooms and super furnishings. Having stayed here before, knowledge of the area and local amenities was already there, but the actual experience itself was the most important part. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed in a lovely small flatlet for two nights. Nice comfy bed, kitchen kitted out with the basic appliances and a nice sized bathroom. It's situated in a great location, just a short walk to the town centre. The breakfast was delicious, perfect start to the day. There's umbrellas to borrow from reception - which proved to be very...

We decided to take a last minute short trip away to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We also wanted to go somewhere near to relatives, so we could call in and see them on our way home. Searching through 'Trip Advisor' we found 'The Abbey Hotel' that we thought met our needs exactly. We rang them and a friendly voice greeted...

The Abbey is exactly what it says - a hotel in buildings that were once part of the abbey. The rooms are comfortable, luxurious and exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly welcoming and kind. This is more like staying with a relative than a paid for hotel. Extremely easy access to Bury St Edmunds - great for a short break

I've just returned from a weekend break with family in Bury St Edmunds. We were made to feel really welcome by everyone at the Abbey hotel- especially Clare who was so great at dealing with all our requests. The accommodation itself was really cosy and the buildings have been carefully restored to maintain it's original charm. Breakfasts were really good...
