I haven't stayed at the hotel myself but my son is currently there and very impressed. My son managed to arrive without any cash (lost debit card) and i phoned ahead to ask for assistance. The lady (Janice as i now know her to be called) not only made me feel very assured that he would be looked afte,r and...

Many thanks for your great review. I'm delighted that we were able to be of service to you and your son during his recent visit to Newcastle and his stay at the hotel. Great guest service is the cornerstone of the hotel, and your positive feedback is greatly appreciated, and has made the day for Janice Aspinall, our Reservations Manager....

Took my wife here for a treat. We weren't let down. We slept in the deluxe double. Great river view. Comfortable bed. We used the bar and restaurant. Food was quality and the drinks were nice. Some places I get John smiths and its like bitter water, but here it was smooth and creamy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed your recent stay with us, with particular regard to the comfort of your bedroom, the view over the river Tyne, the quality of food and drink (in particular the John Smiths!) and the high standard of guest service. Stayed here for Valentines Weekend. The hotel reception is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms have lovely views however bathrooms are in need of updating as are very basic and outdated. Ours wasn't the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel either, not dirty but not exactly sparkling. Hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful, always had a smile on...

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a business trip/conference and it almost cost me my job. As a very sensitive coeliac disease sufferer I thought that I would be safer picking a 4 star establishment (- experience has now shown me that I would have been better off in a 1 - 2 star B & B!)....

Thank you for your comments, in which I was sorry to read of the alleged issue from your stay back in March 2014. No correspondence on this matter has been received prior to your review, and in that a considerable amount of time has since elapsed (11 months), this renders investigation somewhat challenging. We deal on a daily basis with...

I stayed here for a weekend with my mum. Having previously lived in Newcastle and been a member of the health club, I thought it would be nice to have use of the lovely riverside swimming pool and spa. Sadly this was not to be - it closed down over a year ago and shows no sign of re-opening. This...

Our room was clean and large, and overlooked the Tyne River. The bed was comfortable and had four non-feather pillows. Unfortunately, there were no power outlets on either side of the bed; we had to leave our phones and laptops across the room, which is terribly inconvenient. These days all hotels should have power hubs on each nightstand so that...

The Copthorne is in a great location and, apart from a few little problems, is really good value for money. The best thing about my stay was the view from our room and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms could really do with better air conditioning as it was so hot through the night even with...

We arrived Friday afternoon, and checked into our room at 2pm. One of the first things we noticed was there was no WiFi with the room, when we asked at reception we were told that free WiFi was only reserved for certain rooms, which is a weird policy saying as you can get free WiFi in Costa for the price of a cup...
