Stayed here on a 5 day coach tour, they obviously do not have many coach parties here as the hotel does not lend itself to large parties. The room was very nice, the food was very good and the staff very friendly and attentive. The bar is open to the public and on this occasion was visited by a lot...

The Hotel is within easy walking distance to the metro, it has ample parking at the rear of the Hotel. The rooms are clean, roomy and the beds are comfy. The breakfast is a self service buffet for cooked and light breakfasts.

We have been to this hotel before and decided to go back as we were so impressed with the restaurant food and the service of the staff. One of the restaurant staff gave us a leaflet with a great offer therefore we rebooked . On arrival it was St Patrick's Day and the place was buzzing with a great atmosphere....

Booked a triple room here on a Saturday night. The hotel room it's self was small and very dated, especially the bathroom (very 70's) The room also was so hot even with all radiators switched off. The room was facing the road so was too noisy to have the windows open. Seeing as we stayed in February I would hate...

They say first impressions and walking into the Caledonian certainly left a good one. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The room was very large with a spacious en-suite. Bed was very comfortable and there was ample facilities in the room irons/ hairdryers/tea and coffee etc. All in all good value for money.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend. A very comfortable stay. Big room but needed some love and care, furniture was a little tired. Nevertheless the bed was very comfortable and even though our room faced the main road, our sleep was undisturbed. Check in was quick and efficient, food in the restaurant was very delicious although there was...

My wife and I have just spent the weekend in Newcastle for our wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Caledonian hotel which was brilliant. The executive room was fantastic and very spacious. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a slight problem with breakfast but the issue was resolved without any hesitation so we left feeling very...

Friendly staff, great location, nice common areas, bar, restaurant. Then there's the rooms.... avoid standard rooms at all costs. Total contrast to the rest of the hotel and in need of refurb. Executive rooms may be better standard which we were encouraged to consider when checking in but didn't. I'd check what to expect from try different standards when booking.

I stayed here on the 10th of February for three nights. As we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly lady who checked us in and gave us our key cards to our rooms. This hotel is in a lovely area and is ideally near all local amenities. If you prefer a trip into town I...
