My husband and I booked in for Friday night stay and we were so impressed with the hotel and location that we booked for an extra night - we arrived and were greeted by polite staff who directed us to the complimentary car parking. We upgraded to a bridge view room which was beautiful. The room was a little small...

We booked to stay for one night for our anniversary. Upon arrival we were told we'd been upgraded to a corner room, which seemed a nice touch. However, once in the room we were left feeling a little underwhelmed. The room was nice - albeit a little dark - but the bathroom was dated and dirty. As you can see...

We're a mix of ages from 20 to 70 and we have had a great time. Checked in sat afternoon and went to our superior room which was beautiful. Unpacked and down to the bar. Cocktails were lovely and staff were helpful and had lots of knowledge of drinks. Decided we better walk the pooch!! Came back then down to...

My kids took me for my Mother's day treat. It was a lovely surprise. The staff were helpful and polite, we were shown to our table and asked if we would like tea or coffee, one of our party doesn't drink either but was able to get a soft drink instead. Two 3 tiers cake stands were brought with chicken...

Arrived on a wet and miserable Wednesday. Check in was fine with lovely warm reception. Room itself was lovely with fantastic view of the bridge however it was freezing!!! I had to call reception who said once heating is activated it would take time to heat up... It did eventually but really rooms should be pre heated when booked. Even...

Firstly, I had travelled to this hotel on a number of occasions over a year ago and since then they have made changed to their service and policies for the worst! I'd booked a double room with breakfast for a treat for me and my partner. On arrival we had two single beds, I went to reception to complain and...

Stayed here quite a few months ago now. When we arrived at the hotel we were instantly upgraded on check in, it was a really nice touch and quite surprising considering it was a Friday night and we'd only just booked the room about 10 minutes before arrival. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are absolutely brilliant,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
