In all my visits here the service has never been anything short of first class. From arrival to leaving the staff are very attentive and courteous throughout. The quality of food served is excellent and is served with the imagination you would expect from such an establishment. I find there to be a lovely ambience of relaxation and nothing is...

The staff at Jesmond Dene House were all, without exception, friendly, polite and professional. We had a warm welcome from the word go from the reception team and consistently from the bedroom turndown service, bar and waiting teams. Beautiful decor maintained to a high standard and the setting is something of an urban retreat. Perfect

Lovely boutique hotel which I have now stayed in several times. We were upgraded to the New House although I actually prefer the old rooms. Great staff, lovely public rooms, good bar and breakfast. When I have had dinner previously it has been great. One request - when you are paying £200 for a room it's disappointing to be told...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
