I stayed at the bloc hotel with my boyfriend, we chose the hotel as it was close to the Barclay card arena and the town center plus it was half the price of other modern hotels (by close I mean a 10/15min walk ) Before arriving I looked at other reviews to try and build a picture in my head...

We booked the Bloc hotel completely by chance as it was a good deal cheaper than the usual "budget brands". We stayed in a Vista room which was small but has everything you need! The bed was incredibly comfy and the free wifi is fast. The wet room is a bit surreal with one mirrored wall but all modern and...

Dear Shona What a wonderful review of your stay with us at BLOC Hotel Birmingham, it is much appreciated. We have tried very hard to think of all those things that make for a convenient, comfortable and great value night in Birmingham, King-sized beds, the fabulous monsoon shower, top quality bed linens and towels, large HD TV and free, fast...

I am writing this review from my hotel room. This is around the 10th time I have stayed here in the last 15 months. I visit Birmingham regularly for college and have to stay over 3 or 4 times per term. I have never had a bad experience here. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the beds are...

This hotel was great value for money. Our room was upgraded on arrival so I didn't see the basic room but found the one we had to be very clean, modern and very comfortable . It is well located for the Barclaycard arena and has limited but free parking outside after 6pm. Staff were friendly. Couldn't ask for more for...

We stayed here whilst visiting Barclaycard Arena. What a great hotel. Located in a quiet area but close enough to park and walk to the venue. Staff really welcoming and friendly. Our room was excellently appointed and immaculately clean for a modest cost. I cannot fault this place.

Decided to try this hotel as it looked very nice in the photos. Reception really stylish though not much choice on snacks. Room really stylish but quite contained. We did have a window room but disappointed we could not open it, room felt a bit claustrophobic because of this. Should really have triple glazing as we got woken up several...

The Bloc is certainly an acquired taste, I stayed for one night and was purely after a place to sleep and shower, the latter it is very good for, with an excellent shower. Unfortunately the sleeping is not so good, it is impossible to make the room dark enough for a good sleep. Conversely in the day time you can't...

This hotel is amazing! The rain shower is the best shower I have ever experienced and the rooms are compact. The bed is very comfortable and the room rate is exceptional. I would recommend that you stay there..........

Visited The Bloc Hotel this weekend. Positive points: Great location, friendly staff, very clean rooms, great shower, a hairdryer was included, incredibly comfortable bed! Negative points: Worst lighting I've experienced in a hotel room, wet room style bathroom won't suit everyone, no tea / coffee making facilities, vending machines for snacks in reception didn't work. Girls, please note that the...

Dear Sarah I'm pleased that you chose to stay with us at BLOC Hotel Birmingham and thank you for the feedback that your review provides. Your list of positive points very much high-lights a lot of the things that we aim to do exceptionally well; the list of negatives is, I guess, a more personal take on some of the...

Great place, 10 mins walk from the city centre in the lovely jewellery quarter. Quick check in, clean and tidy room, you get a huge bed, TV, bathroom and that's about it.... but for one or two nights to sleep and recharge it's perfect. Check what you are booking, if you want luxury and 'little extras' this isn't for you,...

Dear Ali Thank you for your 'spot on' review of your recent stay with us at BLOC Hotel Gatwick. What we are aiming to offer is pared down, affordable luxury, concentrating on the essentials and doing away with those extras that add to the room rate but are not a necessary part of a night or two in a hotel....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bloc hotel is located in Birminghams Jewellery Quarter. The village atmosphere created by its cafes-bars and restaurants is complemented by the business-shopping-arts and sports facilities that are also on its doorstep. We have taken loose inspiration from Japanese pod style hotels which means much larger rooms more akin to a cabin on a luxury yacht with finishes and fittings to match. The rooms are equipped with a King Size Double Bed-luxurious linen-climate control-wet room with monsoon drench shower-Samsung 32inch led flat screen TV and high speed WIFI. Birmingham is of course a centrally located travel hub and for many of our visitors that will be the most important factor in just how quickly and conveniently they can access the motorway network-national rail and international flights. ... more   less
