Myself and my partner stayed for one night bed and breakfast. Gill make us feel very welcome. She worked very hard to make our stay extra special, even went out of her way to supply gluten free food for my partner. Would recommend away to stay to anyone. The narrow boat was warm and cosy, even though it was snowing...

We have just got home after 2 nights on board Katie the barge hotel on a B&B basis. The welcome and the people concerned with this venture were absolutely brilliant so friendly and I must say very hard working especially Dave who really is a machine. The location is spot on with bars and eateries all very close , shopping...

I've long dreamed of cruising Britains canal system but being a solo traveller couldn't see how I could manage the boat, and the locks, single handed. The answer was my recent four day cruise on board the hotelboat Katie. With berths for six passengers, and a crew of two, the boat offers everything land based accomodation does (albeit in miniature)...

Stayed in March 2014 and found the whole experience totally enjoyable. My host was the owner who was warm and friendly throughout my stay and made me more than welcome. Great location for the city centre and although I was little concerned about the noise level from the city prior to my stay, I couldn't hear anything whilst I was...

Welcomed by Dave, hot drink facilities available all the time & the log burner was lovely & warm when sat in the living space. We're easily pleased & stay at many varied...

We're sleeping on Ash, very charming accomodation, with lot of facilities. The host was caring and helpful The area was very lively and with a great atmosphere, day and night. The boat is confortable and silent, wake up in the morning on a english channel was a really nice experience.

2 night stay . Easy directions and parking at Brindley pub. Barge lovely with small stove and so warm and cosy. Comfy beds. Dave had so many stories and looked after us well with great breakfast. In an ideal area for walking round canals and many places to eat and drink. Can't recommend highly enough.

This is far better than the converted railway carriages just outside York and if looking for a cosy , quirky place to spend a night or two then this has it all. Great location , log burner in the saloon, cozy atmosphere , wonderful staff.

Stayed for one night in Feb 2013. Easy to find, James Brindley pub (closed down) car park is right next to the basin where canal boat Katie is moored. Costs £6 for 24 hours, so is a very cheap parking option. Lovely warm welcome aboard the barge, wood burner glowing away in the saloon area and talked through the facilities...

6 of us girlies stayed one nght on the barge as part of a hen weekend. Lovely barge, fun, querky, and cozy thanks to a stove that was lit all the time. Clean with friendly staff who left us alone to make ourselves feel right at home. Fantastic location to get to all the places in Brum on foot. In...
