We visited this hotel when it first opened quite a few years ago and were looking forward to returning and seeing the changes. Disappointment it was more-or- less the same. This time it was very tired and dingy. Although I tried to make conversation at check in there was no engagement, just very perfunctory. The room was poorly lit and...

Dear Bardswalk Thank you for choosing to stay with us at HdV. Your review and experience is very uncharacteristic for a stay with us so I must offer you my sincerest apologies. Please get in touch so that we can discuss further. Kindest regards, Tony Tony Elvin, General Manager

Lets be honest, I hate giving bad feedback but have no choice. Booked a room at the HdV in Birmingham for our 12th wedding anniversary on 11th December. We were really excited to stay as we have had good experiences at HdV and Malmaison chains previously. Booked the room, massages and a table for dinner - and booked through booking.com....

Dear Adam I am very sorry to hear of this. There are two types of reservation you can make, transferable (in case a problem comes up you can cancel or move the booking) or non-transferable as was your booking. However, I have never knowingly refused such a request to move the date of a booking. Please accept my apologies that...

We booked a table at Bistro Du Vin for my Birthday meal. In a nutshell it was fantastic and good value for money. Having stayed overnight many times and enjoying several evening meals in the restaurant, we decided to treat our 2 young children to the experience too. We were seated at noon and greeted by the staff with a...

HdV has a good central location in Birmingham. Rooms have nice features such as coffee machine with different flavour capsules, quality teas with fresh milk and tempting products in the minibar. The bed was very comfy but we did not get good sleep because there was so much noise all through the night both inside and outside of the hotel....

Dear Emma Thank you for choosing to stay with us. I'm very sorry to hear that you were disturbed by the city centre noise at night and also disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy our breakfast. We usually receive rave reviews for our breakfast . . is there any chance you could let me know what went wrong?...

Took advantage of the January sale and we were so glad we did! Lovely room (with very comfy bed!), a 3-course meal and breakfast in the morning. All for £99. I do love a bargain and this was top drawer! Service was excellent throughout - friendly and efficient. It's an old building so the only tip I would give is...

Came here for drinks and service a little sketchy. In an establishment such as this which charges plenty you expect top notch service. A few things were forgotten about and my bottle of beer wasn't cold.

I made a reservation for Sunday Lunch via OpenTable however, upon arrival, I was advised that due to a technical glitch Hotel du Vin had not received confirmation. Oula, restaurant manager, was absolutely fantastic and suggested we have a drink in the bar whilst she tried to find a solution. Following a short wait Oula rearranged tables to accommodate us...

We were recommended to stay at this hotel as it was in a good location from the train station (Snowhill station), the Bullring and also for Zen as we were attending a birthday celebration there.
