Recently stated just one night on the Sunday night deal which offers great value for money. Have stayed several times before and, as in the title, it has its flaws but it's character and warmth mean I have a real soft spot for HdV. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely; not huge but well appointed. Big...

I have always loved this chain. But this stay was a disaster. Positives; the bed was comfortable the room was a good size the staff tried their best BUT 1 the wifi is primitive. Even Radio 4 keep on dropping off in the morning. I tried to watch the Good Wife (classy if you haven't caught it) on Channel Four...

Dear Simon Thank you for your review and for choosing to stay at Hotel du Vin Birmingham. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your room, your bed and the service from my team, however, I am desperately sorry that you were left so disappointed by your evening meal and the WIFI. I have to say I'm disappointed we only managed 1...

7 chips. £3.95. Never again. Possibly the poorest value for money bowl of chips in Birmingham. Slightly undercooked too. The ales were all warm. Also my husband said the men's toilets are in a poor state of repair and very smelly - and it was only 2pm. What a shame.

My wife and I have stayed here a few times and we have never left dissapointed - the rooms are spacious and the bed is comfy and if you get a monsoon walkin shower you will love it. The food is amazing, I had the best steak ever here and the breakfast is top notch too. Located in the hotel...

Visited for afternoon tea with friends and enjoyed the whole experience. The room you are seated in has high ceilings and the décor is in keeping with the period of the building. It was quite busy on the occasion we were there but the service was still attentive and thorough. Plenty of tea refills when we asked and the food...

Dear Ema S Thank you for your TripAdvisor review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your Afternoon Tea. I promise to look into the music selection (not sure Mark Morrison will be happy but you probably have a point - not really afternoon tea playlist material). Kindest regards, Tony

Although the rooms in this hotel are lovely, the room service and breakfast were terrible. My room service took over an hour and when it arrived it wasn't even complete. By the time my full order was served it was over an hour and a half I'd been waiting. The salad was swimming in oil and dressing and was very...

Dear Rambler I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your bedroom and found it comfortable, but of course I'm very sorry that you could not say the same about your breakfast and room service experience. Please accept my sincere apologies for letting you down. I'm pleased that my reception team addressed this on departure but I'm sure there is something we...

I stayed here on business for one night in February 2016. I booked two rooms - one for myself and a colleague. On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to larger rooms, which was great. The rooms were good, and overall I enjoyed the ambience and style of the hotel throughout the stay. There aren't any plugs...

We chose Hotel du Vin for a valentines treat. It was good value for the spa treatment offer and very nice large room with massive bathroom. Comfy bed. Massage was great and we had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the room. Fab staircase and nice decor but the wall near lift needs painting as "stone effect" paint work all scraped...
