Hotel's Favourite
I have stayed in several hotels in Birmingham over the last decade or so for business. I cannot fault this one and would happily stay again Location- you are right opposite new st station and can walk virtually uncovered into the Grand Central centre and the bullring. I parked in the grand Central car park which was expensive but cheaper if you pre book. I could get from my car to my room in about six minutes without getting wet. Other, better value car parks are available. You can walk from the hotel to anywhere you could possibly need to be, it really is in an excellent location WiFi: we were in a premier plus room which comes with ultimate wifi. Ookla speed test showed it hitting between 5-10 Mbps, so it wasn't blisteringly fast and I did occasionally struggle on zoom calls and the like, so I ended up having to use my phone in tethered mode.a shame. For general browsing it was perfectly adequate. Streaming video it was fine too. Service: the usual premier Inn quality. Nothing was too much trouble. Extra towels when we needed them, polite friendly service, Ethan (?) at breakfast was brilliant. Very much 5* here. The room: would happily stay in a premier plus room again and well worth the extra cost (shame about the WiFi but otherwise perfectly adequate). You even get a free drinks voucher. The beds are always great and the room felt luxe. Shower pressure: not the best on the top floor if I'm honest. You get good toiletries etc though... Value for money: excellent value!!! Covid safety: again all handled brilliantly I'll be back!

I accidentally booked the wrong date for my booking without realising it! Only caught on when I checked my emails which showed I was due to check in on the day. I called into the hotel and Alexandro was very helpful and accommodating. A charismatic personality and a joy to talk with, he helped move the date of my booking promptly.

we stayed here for two nights in mid September during the Covid era. upon arrival we were greeted by door that wouldn't open an intercom system that didn't work so I had to phone the reception three times for someone picked up. Understandably the lady that picked up said that they were short staffed and she was in charge of running the restaurant room service, housekeeping and checking in guests that evening all on her own. The checking process of relatively quick and the hotel is very easy to navigate. The lifts are indeed very very slow so give yourself some time if you're in a rush. The rooms are quite dry been old and they needed a little bit of refurbishing, but other than that for £35 a night at that price that was what I could expect. Another critique was that the surroundings are really noisy so be sure to tell the booking team to request for a room on a higher floor and don't make the mistake that I made. we also got the package that included breakfast and I have to say that the breakfast was subpar, my advice is save money and go out to one of the cafes in the surrounding area instead of having the signature Premier Inn Breakfast. aside from all that I have to say that the location of this hotel is really good as it is literally a two minute walk from new Street station and is right smack in the middle of the city centre.
