Rooms very comfortable with views over surrounding countryside. Mrs Taylor made us a wonderful home cooked meal and breakfast to keep us going the next day along the Pennine Way. Located a short taxi ride or easy walk to Haworth the home of the Brontes. Highly recommended.

What a find ! A charming B &B in a lovely house , full of interesting art , with pretty quirky and comfortable bedrooms and a generous hostess . The view from our bedroom was super ,breakfast was fabulous and all for such a reasonable price - we'd love to return ! ( the website doesn't do justice to this...

Brenda is a very special lady. The ideal host. She's there if you need her but she also leaves you to get on with things too. Brenda is my favourite host along the entire Pennine Way and there were some very good hosts. Ponden House is on the Pennine Way. The twin bedrooms are quite spacious & the beds are...

We had a twin room with a decent sized shared bathroom. First thought on entering the bedroom was "oh dear" as the bed frame appeared to be a left over from Army National Service. However it was one of the most comfortable beds I've had when in a B&B. The velux roof light was manually operated utilising the step ladder...

My favourite B&B on the Pennine Way - a warm welcome after a cold wet day's walking, with tea and cake, and a beautiful peaceful room. The house is full of interesting works of art and books, and has bags of character. Brenda is a kind, calm host who makes you feel looked after as soon as you walk in....

When I got to the Ponden Guest House I had a very cold and wet day of walking. Brenda welcomend me warm-hearted with coffee, cake, sat with me at the fireside and cared about my wet boots. She even gave me her shoes, so I didn't have to go to the pub in my clogs (because my shoes were still...

Two friends and I contacted Brenda about a booking with rather short notice. Still, we knew right away that Brenda would be a wonderful host since she was incredibly patient and flexible. The weekend was off to a great start when we were greeted by Brenda's good friends & the rest of her guests over a cup of tea. We...

My husband booked this short weekend break as a surprise, and what a lovely surprise it was.Though the owner was away her daughter was a great hostess, managing brilliantly and cooking a scrumptious breakfast with a full guest house on our second morning. The rooms were lovely and comfy, with a great shower in our double ensuite If you get...

We have been visiting Brenda at Ponden Guest House for many years now and my only reluctance to review it is from a selfish point of view in keeping this special place a secret. You will need to be determined to find it as it's off the main road and the track leading past the reservoir is not the best...

Stayed for two nights which was perfect to get away from the business of life. Eat the first night at the excellent silent inn at the bottom of the hill and the second chose a takeaway pizza, wine and the hot-tub lit by fairy lights beneath the stars. The house itself is set back from a picturesque reservoir and in...
