This is a really old building in the heart of Salisbury. No parking at the hotel but there is a public car park just round the corner. We were welcomed warmly and shown the room and alternate exits (in case of fire etc). The room was adequate in size and (being really old) had some quite uneven flooring, but the...

My wife and I had a very pleasant two-night stay to attend a local wedding. We couldn't park at the Mercure carpark as suggested by the website, but the hotel issued us with a pass for the nearby public carpark. I stupidly left a pair of shoes in the room when we checked out, but the hotel happily posted them...

We stayed here mid week whilst on a little getaway. The hotel is charming and we ended up eating in the restaurant, which was both open when much else was closed and also good food Would certainly recommend for a getaway or a cut above business trip

We chose this hotel for our last minute weekend away after reading a recent review saying how baby friendly the experience was. We agreed, finding the staff helpful and accommodating for our first jaunt away from home with our five month old baby. The room was beautiful, old and full of character although the traffic was quite noisy with the...

We paid 130£ for a 1 night stay in a Saturday. This is for the most basic room and prices included breakfast. Room: I had asked for a quiet room. But I think in this hotel, above a pub, on a fairly busy road, old building, quiet doesn't really exist. It wasn't too bad but I could hear people talk...

Thank you for sharing your experience. All our rooms are quirky, some with street side views and some a little more secluded and quieter. Room 2 is a popular room with guests who want the convenience of a city centre location but the quietness from being away from the road. It is unfortunate that you had some noise experience -...

We arrived and walked in to a bustling bar, still busy latish on a Friday night. But there was a good buzz and after booking in, we stopped for a couple of fairly epic gin and tonics, served in giant 'fish bowl' sized goblets. A great start to the weekend! We'd booked late, so had to take what we could...

Visited the restaurant quite often over a year of my stay in Salisbury; always impressively efficient and personalised service. Ad hoc outing on Valentine's night made me feel embarrassed by the caring staff to accommodate us, not pre booked couple. A few business dinners and nights out with customers - never short of excellent. Recently went back for s meal...

First time here. Wanted to give it a go after reading the reviews on here. Three of us went for a birthday meal. The place was pretty full when we went in, always a good sign the food is good. The staff were very friendly, polite and we even shared a few jokes with the waitress who served us. The...

Ok the last time I visited this hotel it was called the lazy cow. It was always quirky and that was its saving grace as everything else was always hit and miss and it in my opinion struggled to achieve its three stars! But this time around what a transformation! It's achieved a fourth star and it's well deserved. The...

We were really looking forward to stay in this beautiful place as per all fantastic reviews. As we knew that weather is not going to be great a nice cosy room would be perfect back up for a cold rainy day. The Chapter House has a great location as well. And yes, the place is a piece of history. Very...

Thank you taking the time to write your review. A great pity you left disappointed. As we are in the city centre, we do have factors such as noise pollution that need considering. We have double glazed all windows which does block out large volumes of noise. As a sensitive sleeper, upon check-in, you should have requested a room at...
