Travellers' Choice
One of the most elegant country house hotels in the Cotswolds, Buckland Manor is tucked away in a tranquil corner of the village of Buckland, next to the old village church. Set in 10 acres of grounds, which blend seamlessly into the village, the beautiful manor house is unmarked by the passing of time; it is an idyllic setting from which to enjoy an exceptionally warm welcome, tantalising menus lovingly crafted from the ‘market garden of England’ and breath-taking Cotswold scenery. Buckland Manor truly encapsulates the feeling of being at the home of a friend. A very good friend who produces afternoon tea on request, fine aperitifs before dinner, suggests the perfect wines and doesn't mind how late you get up before serving a hearty breakfast. We kindly advise that Buckland Manor offers quality time for family and friends, where staying and dining is a more adult affair, so we ask that children are aged ten years and over.

I was somewhat disappointed with our stay. The evening menu options were far too limiting with only creamy desserts (even the cheese) & venison being the only meat option. The room was far too hot with a heavy duvet, low ceilings, small windows so uncomfortable night sleep. The bath was uncomfortable with a marble shelf over lipping the bath so you could not rest for a long soak

Buckland Manor is a beautiful house to stay, staff are really attentive without being over powering. Our room 'Jasmine' was perfect with a very large bathroom and perfect in every way! Looking forward to our next time at Buckland Manor!

Beautiful afternoon tea in a well preserved Manor House. The staff were really friendly, professional and left us to our own devices, checking periodically if all was OK. Very accommodating and willing to help where needed. Afternoon tea was a delight. Sandwiches, mini cakes, palate cleanser and scones were tasty. As it was a sunny afternoon, my partner and I decided we would finish the day by sitting in the garden with a glass of wine. It was bliss. Peaceful. Relaxing. Just what I needed. Relatively easy to find. Ample parking.

Buckland Manor is in a fairytale setting in one of our favourite places but our stay was far from acceptable . Our room was ok but so hit and the windows only open a few inches . Morning shower was cold .Dinner was so disappointing,at these prices you should be able to at least expect really great food . The lamb was over cooked ,fatty and chewy, venison also overcooked . The ravioli pasta was awful . The Mille feuille dessert had no creme pat , custard ,icing or cream . We expect to pay over the top for wine but the bottle prices were ridiculous. Waitress serving dinner had her face mask under her nose and told us she’d ‘ just been jabbed that day ‘ Only one waiter ( who as really lovely ) at breakfast so we had to wait longer than we should have . I emailed the hotel with our comments ,no response . You are not deserving of Relais membership, this is very misleading . Almost £600 for one night which is fine if things are good ,they were not .

We had a lovely overnight stay to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had a scrumptious afternoon tea and then took a lovely walk around the beautiful grounds. We then had an late afternoon drink on the terrace. Our evening meal was absolutely fantastic - the cuisine is to a very high standard. Our room was really comfortable and we wanted for nothing. The hotel is very welcoming and the staff are very kind and helpful. Would highly recommend.
