Comfortable accommodation in a lovely clean and warm room with excellent facilities. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a great nights sleep over the four day stay. The breakfast was first class but the bar was very limited. Other reviewers seemed to have experienced something entirely different but our experience was good.
Having read some other reviews I was dreading this place. But to be fair whilst not exactly modern it was reasonably priced and for somewhere to sleep fine. Breakfast was very good. Yes the rooms and decor are 1970s throwback and shared bathrooms not ideal - particularly toilet with half plain glass in window which is overlooked.
This hotel is not a budget it is the epitome of hell people that got rescued in Thailand in a cave had a better night than us we had to drive back home...We couldn't stay there it was bad and I mean bad the bath looked like something human centipede was filmed in
I can honestly say that I have never stayed in a hotel which was as run down as this, we stayed in a building that should have been closed years ago. The rooms were shabby, so much so I slept in my clothes and on top of a very creaky bed. The showers were very diry and didn't drain, I felt as though I was standing in everyone's water. The toilet felt as though it was going to fall through the floor. On a positive the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We arrived at the front desk and it took a little while for them to find our booking, no problem. We were then walked out of the hotel and around the corner to a scruffy terraced house, and were shown to our room. We had been told where the toilet and kitchen were but when I went to try and open them both doors were wedged shut. The headboard fell off the bed when we moved it slightly and there was black mold on every edge around the window, with chewing gum trodden into the carpet. We immediately went back to reception and asked for our money back, we said we would stay elsewhere but despite only paying 5 minutes prior to this we were told there was noting they could do. We were therefore offered a new room in the hotel but were told that the initial room was budget so what do we expect. As we were about to be shown to our new room the lady on reception said "you haven't taken any pictures have you?!". The new room, though marginally better, was still sub par, and this time we did take pictures. There were stains on the carpet, holes and cracks in the wall and rust and mold everywhere. I still wouldn't describe this room as budget, and again we didn't want to stay there. We went back to reception and said we looked, but were not comfortable staying in this hotel and just wanted to leave. Apparently that was not an option. The receptionist then made a phone call and reluctantly put us in one of the new rooms. With nowhere else to go and no sign of our money we had no choice but to stay, however I wouldn't recommend coming here to anyone. The photos below are of the second room, wish we took some of the first now!…
