The hotel is in a great position in that it is a few yards from the Pier but it is up a small side street. This means (a) no sea view and (b) it is noisy at night so best to keep your window closed. The pub below is not currently open so no food was available but there is a fabulous Greek restaurant to one side and the Spanish deli Ultracomida on the other. A number of other restaurants and coffee shops are within easy walking distance and there are fish and chips galore on the front. The current check in arrangements work well and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable although I found the Covid induced waterproof covers on the pillows very hot. The one member of staff I came across was very helpful and the manager was contactable by mobile if necessary.

Stayed here for one night and like the other visitors was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was, the cleanliness and it’s central location. The owner text with door entry code and left keys for us due to the Covid 19 measures. There are sanitisers and wipes in the property if required. The only negative I have is the big comfy bed was let down by the thin pillows that offered no support. Such a shame. Don’t let that put you off though.

I honestly was not expecting an amazing visit when I booked. This stay was only for one night while my partner was in hospital overnight, so anything would have been acceptable. I have previously lived in Aberystwyth and have walked past the Pier Hotel several times and never thought to stay here when I came back to visit. As our stay was shortly after the CoronaVirus lockdown restrictions were eased, the pub and restaurant was closed, so only the hotel was in operation. We were emailed the code to the side entry door, and found no issues. The corridors to our rooms were very tight and the stairs slightly steep, however everything was very neat and well presented. Our rooms doors were fire doors which had latches that were left unlocked for us, with a key inside so we can still re-enter our rooms should we wish to wander Aberystwyth for the evening. The key was very smartly attached to a phone-sized piece of drift wood to ensure it would be harder to lose it. The room contained a 32" flat screen TV which I did not use, so cannot comment on channel availability. The double bed was ever so neatly laid out and had lovely and clean duvet sheets, the bed frame itself was made from sturdy solid wood. There was a lovely bay window which was double layered with both authentic original sliding windows on the outer layer, which was well maintained and worked perfectly, and more modern inner layer which had a working clasp. This allows the room to retain heat more efficiently. There was a small desk and chair to sit at, which had a bucket of tea and coffee supplies, and a mirror above the table. Along with a small table (made from a repurposed palette box) which held a kettle, two mugs and untensils. A very handy clothes rail fixed to the wall in the corner of the room with sturdy wooden hangars, and another cabinet for storage. There was also to my delightful surprise a mini fridge that could be used to store cold items. Which is very useful, as I have had numerous hotel experiences where milk cartons have had to be stored in the bathroom sink in cold water to keep cool. Speaking of the bathroom, it was quite large. Fitting a standing corner shower, two mirrors, a sink and toilet (with two loo rolls); all of which were immaculate! I cannot find a spec of dust anywhere in the room, and the carpet looks brand new and the room smells lovely. There is also a nice bedside lamp, and double plug sockets on either sides of the bed. The basket on the desk contained mini UHT milk cartons, tetley teabags, nescafe coffee sachets, brown and white sugar, and even two pairs of ear plugs! Not that it gets too rowdy nearby at all. The room is well lit too. My other family members' twin room was in just good condition as my double with the exception, that they had a bath with iverhead shower in their bathroom, and no raised windowsill by their bay window. The hotel is quite literally 20 seconds from the pier entrance, and about a 1 minute walk withing eyesight of local Spar corner shop. It is 3 minutes from the promenade and North Beach. There is also a delightful sit-in & takeaway indian restaurant around the corner called Light Of Asia, and I highly recommend sitting in! There's also a chippy around the corner too. I'm overall very pleased with my stay. Would recommend!

The owner/ manager was incredibly friendly. The room was clean and I slept really well In the bed. The location was the best. Besides being near the pier where the starlings fly- it has an amazing tapas restaurant next door. The room has all the necessary amenities.

What a lovely clean homely Hotel we would love to come back again in the future. Hotel is over a bar but we didnt hear a thing we were on the top floor they even had karaoke one night didn't hear a word. Everything is so very clean,The owner is very friends and see him cleaning and replacing towels etc everyday we had a 4 day break. The Hotel is about 2 minutes walk to the Beach and Pier This hotel does not do food but with so many fabulous cafes bars restaurants and dinners around you are spoilt for choice. The weather was lovely when we stayed so we ate on the seafront dinner every morning with a lovely beach view. Would highly recommend highly recommend for dog owner as well you can take your fluffy little pooch almost everywhere in Aberystwyth. P.s if the owner sees this my Husband would like to know what shower gel you supply in the hotel he loved it. 😎🙂🤗 10/10 from us
