Cute little basic B&B. Good value for money with friendly staff. Not incredibly luxurious (the decor is a bit outdated) but the rooms and bathroom were very clean, neat and comfortable. Good breakfast selection and lovely back garden. It has a great location and is close to a nearby overnight car park. You have to pay in cash but that...

I travel for work constantly, I've stayed lots of places around Wales, some quite fancy some extremely shabby and whenever I come through Aberystwyth I always try to get a room here. The owner, Julian and manager, Marlena generate a real sense of welcome! The continental breakfast is always generous (and frankly I prefer this to million rubbish cooked breakfasts...

This was an excellent place to stay for a couple of days. Marlene, the staff member on duty, was friendly, helpful and seemed ready to go out of her way to make guests feel welcome. There were plenty of thoughtful touches - a cafetiere in each room with fresh coffee and speciality tea, a notebook and pen and shelves of...

There are no debit card facilities at this property, decorating and furnishings are of a poor standard with evidence of damp having been decorated over, Rooms are very cold as there is a fierce draft coming through aged and rotting wooden sash windows, parking is very limited. Breakfast whilst described as being continental was of a poor standard and left...

There was a draft coming through the wooden single-glazed bedroom window that had a blind, not curtains, up in it. The bed sloped towards the wall and was lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. There was no TV in the room. The bedroom furniture was very old and worn and was broken in places. The window overlooked the next street...

I would like to firstly say that we are always disappointed to obtain a poor review and that we work incredibly hard to achieve guest satisfaction. On Bookingdotcom we have achieved 8.3 out of ten based on almost 200 reviews. Sadly this review page is a little hard to find as it is placed in the lodgings section of this...

The staff , well the young lady running the place was nice. The accommodation was awful. How anyone can call a place that is run down, with no central heating, broken beds and shared facilities quirk is being nice. The whole building is run down and the in the shared toilet, the plaster is coming away. The room I said...

Having recently spent two nights at the Shelley Town House whilst visiting Aberystwyth University, I would have liked to spend time only saying really nice things about the stay because it is an interesting place. The staff at the accommodation were extremely helpful, polite and attentive even when the fire alarm was accidentally activated. The owner was understanding and cheerful...

The Shelley Town Residence will not suit everybody, but I was very happy with my 2-night stay. This is a quirky place, a small terrace house with seven (?) bedrooms but only one bathroom (plus a second room with toilet and washbasin); with a great collection of books available to guests, but no television; with white walls and roughly sanded...
