I booked the Grosvenor apartment at the beginning of the week for Saturday the 27th of March. On the day of arrival I had a phone call to explain that there was and issue with the room so we couldn’t stay in that facility. Therefore, they offered us a suite in the hotel. I’ve worked in accommodation before so I could understand that sometimes issues do occur. However once we arrived I asked the lady at reception what the issue was and she just continued to say that there was “something wrong with the room” not really giving me an explanation. The room was ok. Didn’t look look like it had been hoovered and the bathroom felt grubby. We only stayed the night, however we won’t be returning.
It was ok - nothing special about it. The shower was poor and the pillows were a bit hard for my liking. My room was next to a communal bathroom and doors in hallways were very near, they make a lot of noise when people walking through, the doors slam which can wake you or certainly disrupt your peace and quiet. The breakfast was fine, plenty of choices and the cooked food was well prepared.
Stayed one night on the sat 19 sept after dropping off my lad at Uni. Was absolutely horrified at so many bad reviews but had little choice as there was no other places to stay as they was all booked up. But! And this is a big but. After just arriving at Aber sat afternoon I had a call from the lady at four seasons asking how we were and to confirm the booking. We told her and she replied "don't rush, your room is ready when you get here. Use the parking outside the hotel as its after six and you'll be ok". Finally arrived and was greeted by the same lady with a smile and a hello and within five minutes we was in our room. The room itself was huge, a big king-size bed and a smaller single bed next to that, clean and comfy and everything there for our needs. Clean bathroom and shower (with towels provided) which was hot within seconds of turning on. A nice touch was the large amount of tea, coffee and milk provided rather than the bog standard two of each drinks most places leave. Great nights sleep. Breakfast was a buffet eaten at a set time in the morning, plenty of it and vegetarian breakfast (as requested) promptly served. No need to go back for more as the one plate was enough served by lovely staff. This hotel seems to have been hit with bad reviews, question is are these reviews false or true accounts of stays by people. I suggest you make your own mind up about them. The hotel itself is central, if you want a five star hotel experience from a three star hotel then it'll never happen, go spend a little bit more money and stay in a five star hotel would be my suggestion. …
Arrived at reception to be taken down the road to a grotty house where I was given the keys to my room, no wander the receptionist didn't want to take me to my room (she disappeared promptly probably due to embarrassment!) How the owner is allowed to rent out these rooms is beyond me!! If I could have, I would have walked straight out but I checked and I could not get anywhere else. The room was damp, dirty, dated, the electric socket was actually hanging off the wall, words just can't describe how bad this place is. The shared bathroom had no lock on it, was filthy and falling apart, also I question how they can rent out these rooms with shared toilet facilities during the COV-19 restrictions? there was no one regularly cleaning and also no antibacterial spray..... This place needs to be looked at and shut down.…
Was due to stay for a weekend Uni reunion. Received a call on the morning we were due to stay to say that they couldn’t accommodate us. Also cancelled our friends’ booking! Luckily we hadn’t left London.
