Travellers' Choice
Gwesty Cymru opened on the 7th October 2020 under new management. Gwesty Cymru is a highly artistic, colourful and luxurious property. See why so many travellers make Gwesty Cymru their hotel of choice when visiting Aberystwyth. Providing an ideal mix of value, comfort and convenience, it offers a charming setting with an array of amenities designed for travellers like you. Close to some of Aberystwyth's most popular landmarks, such as St. Michael's Church (0.1 mi) and St Paul's Methodist Church (0.1 mi), Gwesty Cymru is a great destination for tourists. Rooms at Gwesty Cymru Luxury Guest House offer a flat screen TV and a desk providing exceptional comfort and convenience, and guests can go online with free wi-fi. An on-site relaxed day time cafe serving Kenyan Blue mountain Coffee, homemade cakes and fine alcoholic beverages along with soft drinks will also help to make your stay even more special. We have plans to open a fine restaurant in the future however as this is a new venture we would like to reopen the hotel and cafe bar initially. In the meantime we would recommend the following restaurants which are a short walk from the property (in no no particular order): Little Italy, Medina, Ultracomida, SY23 and Baravin. Looking to explore? Each room at Gwesty Cymru contains original artwork focusing on a theme centred around the warm colours and romantic landscapes of the Aberystwyth area. This would make a great starting point for exploration. For example room one focuses on the rock formations of nearby Constitution hill. Room Number 3 focusses on the rich warm colours of nearby hill fort Pendinas. The theme to this room is "Pendinas, Terracotta, Fired Earth and Bronze". The theme to Room Number 5 is "The Fresh Green Mountains and Emerald Fields of The Ystwyth Valley and Room Number 7 is centred around "The sand Dunes of Ynyslas" At Gwesty Cymru, your comfort and satisfaction come first, and We look forward to welcoming you to Aberystwyth.

This is the first time we have been away in many months following the outbreak of the Coronavirus7 Pandemic. We genuinely couldn't have picked a better hotel to stay in. From the outset it was obvious you are walking into a hotel of class that has had love and devotion oozed into it. From the thought of the room names, to the interiors, it couldn't be more perfect. Walking in from the cool spring sea breeze you are hit with a warm atmosphere. The communal area and room is minimal and spotless. The way the rooms are put together with thought and furnishings supporting craftsmen and artists is class in itself. Then to be able to sit in the bay window overlooking the beautiful sea is heaven in itself! I have not slept so soundly in months and months. The bed was super comfy, and the whole ambience created the perfect atmosphere for us to relax. The owners have been incredibly accomodating and friendly on the phone and messaging, and for this we are very grateful. We hope to return very, very soon for more of the same, and next time hopefully for longer downtime.

Cannot recommend Gwesty Cymru enough! Staff were so helpful with any queries. Room was lovely and spacious with a lush and romantic bathroom. Travelling during lockdown was made easy by being able to bring food to our room and eat in front of our bay window whilst looking out to the sea. Aberystwyth is a beautiful place and this hotel is the perfect place for a peaceful break away. Super close to the town where there’s loads of local and independent eateries (I recommend Medina and Light of Asia!) There is plenty of parking around, although you have to move a few times due to time limits but it’s a moment out of your day.

Absolutely amazing hotel and servuce. Having to stay in Aberystwyth due to work i thankfully found Gwesty Cymru and boy did I find a gem. Professional service and 100% customer focused. Very accomodating and appreciative of your business. The rooms are beautifully presented and very clean. Staff very attentive. Once the country opens up after this pandemic i am looking forward to seeing this wee place thrive. Looking forward to experience the fine dining and the ambience of this place. Well done Julian and all staff. Thanks for giving me a great home from home. Keep up the good work and i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed here at the end of November and enjoyed every minute. The staff were very helpful, especially Adam who opened up early for us so we could check in before 3pm. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had great views out to sea. They aren't doing food at the moment and that, coupled with the fact that England was in lockdown when we visited, meant that we were charged a very reasonable room rate. We would definitely return,

Just had a fabulous weekend at this stunning little luxurious hotel. Although they are not yet doing food, there are some really great restaurants nearby. We enjoyed being lulled to sleep by sound of the sea and waking up to a fantastic veiw over cardigan Bay. Thoroughly recommend.
