Popped in for a quick lunch and were made very welcome by Keith Jones. Fantastic lunch, highly recommend the sandwiches. Good bar with a fine selection of beers. If you are in Caernarfon I can highly recommend this place.

Took my family for a late lunch on a cold day. The food was very good - I had the Festive Turkey Sandwich, there was one kid's meal of Chicken Bites, a Beef Lasagne and a Tuna Jacket potato.... All the meals were substantial and nicely presented for a pub. Good value

My car was locked in the car park and had to find a place to stay over night. So rang them and booked. The room is clean and comfortable, just a bit noise in the moring should make a more isolated window. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Once again a lovely tasty meal. Generous portion size. Good food, great value. Friendly and pleasant service. An enjoyable visit. We were recommended to try the Black Boy but it was heaving and there was over an hour's wait for a table so we gave that idea up and continued over to the trusty Castell. Whilst it was still busy...

Stayed for two nights in double room at the back of hotel. Room was small and the bathroom really cold, decor was tired and the bedding not a good quality. Disappointing after reading such good reviews. Didn't eat in the downstairs pub as it was empty when we went out about 7pm. Lots of choice of restaurants and bars. Didn't...

Right in centre of town. Noise not a problem in room 3 (except for neighbour coming in at 2.30 am). Nice view over Afon Seiont and liked the cast iron fireplace. Could do with a mirror over washbasin. NO BREAKFAST provided. (Cafi Maes over the square does a cooked breakfast and coffee).

Stayed for five nights in August. We were given a choice of rooms, a larger room on the first floor, or a smaller but quieter one on the second. We chose the latter. There was still some noise from the pub and the square outside, but nowhere near as much as some of the other reviews suggest, and certainly nothing...

We had a meal at Y Castell's restaurant as it was the first place we came across, conveniently positioned as it is on the square. Standard pub fair, good sized portions but somewhat lacking finesse and flavour. Staff were very friendly though, couldn't fault that.

“Although I've stated 'no beach' the harbour is lovely. Rear facing rooms best as they overlook part of the harbour and not the main square.”
