We were bought afternoon tea as a present from our son and daughter in law. The tea was well presented and tasted lovely but we failed to finish ours,( we had to take the scones home). Lovely service and an amazing choice of teas.

Enjoyed lunch post board meeting in the Brecon Suite. Traditional Christmas dinner and service were excellent from the young French waitress. Really enjoyable food and excellent setting. Very easy to recommend. There's probably only one area requiring some thought. On busy occasions, the smokers gather at the rear entrance and if you are walking past to perhaps go and leave...

We stumbled upon the Resturant here when walking past... delicious food in the bar and very very cosy... the huge Christmas tree and log fire definitely made it!! We will be back when we are in Abergavenny again

We are a group of old friends who meet up here for lunch each year close to Christmas. I thought this year's lunch the best ever: lovely food and good service, although a bit slow. The ambiance is perfect and ,given the quality of the meal, not that expensive. Truly enjoyable.

Disappointing 'deluxe room' quite basic, characterless with no bath. Had far better standard of room in many other places for far less money (it was £155 per night B and B) breakfast mediocre too, basic and lukewarm (the bacon was good) very ordinary considering. Dinner in the Oak Room was excellent, top notch food with great service and bar atmosphere...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your second review. As mentioned in my initial response, your voucher was for a superior room (not a deluxe). Our superior rooms are our middle side rooms. Some of our rooms consist of a bath but unfortunately not all rooms; most guests request a bath at the time of booking. I am pleased you enjoyed...

Stayed only for one night but had a really lovely stay. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a supremely comfortable bed and a huge wall mounted TV. Bottles of water, high end tea clipper tea bags with fresh milk a call away if you don't like little UHT milk pods. Breakfast was good- the cooked selection was great-...

Great hotel with beautiful room, large bathroom, great facilities, very clean, excellent menus with fab choices, the only downfall was the number of foreign staff at the Angel, Every one of the staff was from outside the UK, these days we really accept that a vast number of staff working in uk are from Poland, Romania etc but it would...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am delighted to read you enjoyed your bedroom and the excellent menus in the hotel. A majority of our staff are from outside the UK, however we also have a good number of British staff as well. We make a massive effort trying to hire British or Welsh staff, however we would...

Booked through The Walnut Tree as they only have self catering accommodation. The room was huge with a large bathroom with bath and shower. We don't live far from Abergavenny and gave eaten at The Angel on numerous occasion and didn't realise the hotel was so big. Everyone was superbly friendly and the room comfortable. The breakfast was really disappointing...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. The Walnut Tree is our sister property; just to clarify, they are actually not self catering cottages. Most have dinner at the Walnut Tree when staying in the cottages and a full array of breakfast items are put in the guests refrigerator for the morning. I am pleased to read you enjoyed your...

We had a lovely one night stay at The Angel. We booked directly with the hotel and were fortunate to be upgraded to the Castle Cottage. It was a lovely cottage 2 mins from the main hotel. Overall our stay was delightful bar a couple of very small issues. Firstly, on arrival at the cottage we noticed that there were...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am delighted you enjoyed your complimentary upgrade to Castle Cottage. I am sorry to read housekeeping had not put toiletries in your bathroom; I will make sure to discuss this with them. We have recently switched our amenities from the White Company to a lovely company called...
