I recently stayed at the Angel for 2 nights on a business trip. It was interesting to compare with its sister hotel, the Abergavenny, at which I stayed some weeks ago. I much preferred the Angel. I liked its quirky character, its comfort and convenience. The staff were excellent, being friendly and attentive. But the high point for me was...

Visited a few times, different occasions. Met here a couple of times for drinks, normally busy and quietly bustling atmosphere but I don't really understand who it's aimed at. It isn't a lively pub full of youngsters or a quaint old pub with a few old folk propping up the bar yet it doesn't seem to sit in the middle....

I stayed here late 2008 when i was with my girlfriend at the time. This time I returned with girlfriend, who is now my wife and our new baby. To be honest couldn't remember too much about the hotel until I arrived at the reception again. The staff, I remember were very friendly and helpful. The hotel looked as if...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am delighted to read you enjoyed your deluxe room at The Angel. I have made a note regarding the lack of hooks. Many rave about our afternoon teas and I am pleased you found afternoon tea the highlight of your stay. We hope to have the pleasure...

This hotel is well located in Abergavenny. We stayed for 3 nights and the longer we were there the more at home we felt. The strengths of the hotel, for us, were the very comfortable areas downstairs for eating, or siting around, and the very friendly staff. Our rooms (which looked out over Lower Castle St) were rather noisy -...

We stayed the night of a Max Boyce event at the local Borough theatre and what a great place. Room clean and comfortable, breakfast in bed, free wifi, friendly staff, reasonable bar prices and great location. Car park space at hotel limited but 24 hr public parking adjacent only £4. Highly recommended!

Lovely little place, comfortable beds and food is nice too. The breakfast was brilliant, the bacon was like a slab of gammon (Big bacon fan). Eggs cooked to perfection and the orange juice they have is lovely!!! Located in a really good area with parking also, just behind the castle and right next to the town. Newly refurbished too so...

What a fantastic weekend at this wonderful hotel. My son's wedding and what a wedding it was. The hotel staff were very professional in every thing they did. We didn't need to ask for anything it was all there. All the people who travelled down from Sunderland (at least 50+) for the wedding said they all had an amazing experirnce....
