Stay away! I think meeting Alan would have saved this trip based on other reviews. However, Alan is regrettably in the hospital. His son was taking over in the meantime. I can tell you with certainty that Alan's son is not doing such a good job. The entire building reeks of smoke (my asthmatic companion wheezed all night). Our room...

You have to take this hotel for what it is. It has character. Its not modern etc. The old furniture to me just adds to its charms. The bed was comfy and the room was warm. The host Alan is great and couldn't do enough for me and my sister during our stay. To us this was more welcome then...

Dropped into the LLys Llewelyn on recommendation from a bartender in town and was pleasantly surprised. Cozy rooms for reasonable prices (around half to one-third of some of the other B&B's in town), with views for days and walking distance to everything in Conwy. Alan is a beautiful host, and we wish we could stay longer. Will be back!

Alan the owner is so nice and accomodating. Great chatting with him each morning. Very charming, almost 80 years old. He made us tea the day of arrival when we explained how tired we were from our trans Atlantic flight. The mattresses are TERRIBLE. The worst ones we have had in two one month trips to Europe. They sag and...

As other reviews indicate, the host, Alan, is really a very charming fellow and I don't regret having had the chance to have chatted with him. The standard of hygiene at his little hotel, however, while not health-threatening, is not what one would expect in a professional establishment; the odor of smoke is pervasive, and the carpets and other surfaces...

We found this place in Rick Steve's guidebook and by reading some of the reviews online. We understood that the place "needs some TLC" but expected it to be functional and clean. This place is a filthy dump. If you are only looking for a charming host and delightful conversation then this place is appropriate as Alan is indeed a...

Our experience here was so bad it's almost funny now. At least we have a good story to tell. I found this B&B in Rick Steves' book - he's never steered me wrong before. The description said "needs some TLC." I can live with that. I don't need fancy - just clean and safe. I even read some of the...

This hotel is ideal for exploring Conwy and the Snowdonia area of Wales. Alan, the host and owner, makes the morning meal time wonderful with useful information and interesting conversations. Steps away from the city walls, parking and wifi add to the convenience and value of this hotel.

We really enjoyed staying here and it was great deal. Our morning conversations with Alan were delightful. He is very knowledgeable and has great hiking stories to share. This is a great location and very close to the city center.

High hills, steep stairs and low doorways in this beautiful old home. Alan is as nice and interesting a guy as you'll find anywhere. This is a great place to stay and a great value and a perfect location in Conway.
