Just returned from a 4night break in the saltspring lodge today having had an amazing stay booked it again as soon as we got home for next year. The lodge was to a very high standard, exceptionally clean and very spacious. The surroundings were lovely especially this time of year, very peaceful. We used the swimming pool everyday this was...

Mon- Fri break with 2 adults and two teenagers. Booked Birches VIP lodge, mainly for the hottub, which was great. Lodge was huge with part of the attraction being the kids being able to get their own bathrooms. Hottub was excellent. One or two minor niggles in the property but nothing major or enough to detract from the experience. The...

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are really trying our hardest to get things right here and even the smallest of niggles that any guest may encounter will be treated seriously and we would try and sort them as quickly as possible. I am pleased to hear that you would come back though. Thanks again...

We stayed in the birch VIP lodge and I can't believe how great it was. We arrived early and the staff were very helpful explaining things and telling us where to go. The lodge itself is massive, we had a double bed ensuite downstairs 3 bedrooms(one ensuite) and another bathroom upstairs. The living area is a good size as the...

I stayed here for my 50th birthday weekend with a group of friends and family, Birches VIP lodge 5. The lodge was huge, spotless and really cosy. Hot tub was amazing, could comfortably fit 8. The kitchen is equipped superbly, everything you could possibly need. You are also provided with an ample supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, tea...

Thank you for your lovely comments. We do work hard to make sure everything is okay and it is rewarding for the Penvale Lakes staff to hear such nice comments. You make a really valid point about people ringing us up to discuss their specific requirements as all the lodges are just a little bit different in terms of location,...

We found this place on Hoseasons and was not disappointed, a real quite and peaceful place to enjoy beautiful wales. the cabins were warm, clean, and large! the lodge had a new hot tub installed, water had been changed from previous people (at temperature round 7pm) we wasn't meant to be checking in till 4pm, but had a phone call...

Thank you for your nice comments. We will always try and give guests a call a day or two before to try and accommodate early arrivals. We do change clean and refill the hot tubs after every guest and they get checked every day by the staff member on duty making sure the chemical balance is correct. Glad you enjoyed...

Found through Hoseasons, we found the lodge absolutely perfect. Completely what was needed for a break. It was fully equipped, hot tub was very clean and it was beautifully quiet. Only negatives perhaps- to be picky, the wifi was throttled heavily over the last two days. This was discussed with the owner who was already making movements to improve this,...

Thank you for your comments. You are quite right to bring up the subject of wifi. We only had this installed in March and it has been received quite well as there is little or no phone signal at times due to the secluded nature of the site. The only way we could install the wifi was to purchase data...

I booked Saltspring Lodge VIP for my partners 50th birthday. What a disappointment, totally overpriced for the standard of accommodation. Everything tired and run down nothing in good condition other than the hot tub which was very good. Site not maintained well at all. We stop in log cabins a lot and this was one of the most expensive with...

We stayed here in May for my mums 50th birthday. The lodge inside couldn't be faulted. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything that you could need. Downstairs there was the double room with en suite, there was a small utility room with a washing machine. There is also a small bbq kept in here which would...

Thank you for your lovely comments. We do have high standards of cleanliness for both the lodges and hot tubs and the staff really do take pride in maintaining those standards. The structure over the pool is retractable and is opened up on request when it gets too hot so on your next visit we will make sure we open...

First and foremost I must say that penvale lake holiday lodges run by hosea sons appear to be very well kept and the site is very beautiful and quite and would certainly return to a hoseason lodge. I wish the same was true of the privately owned lodge niagara. We arrived very excited to be staying in a luxury four...

You are quite right to point out the difference between the Niagara Lodge you stayed in and Penvale Lakes Lodges itself. Penvale Lakes as a whole is 12 luxury lodges and also one cottage (please see www.penvalelakes.com). Three of the lodges are privately owned and one of these, Niagara Lodge, is rented out by the owner independently of ourselves who...

I visited penvale with my wife and four kids for the Christmas period. Escaping the expectations that often go with being at home over Christmas near extended family is very welcomed now and then.
