A nice guest house tucked away in its own grounds but really convenient for town. The staff were great and there is a swimming pool, a residents' bar, even a 9 hole putting green which was free to use and great fun. The food was excellent (we only ate breakfast but other guests said the other meals were just as...

I went for the guided walking holiday. The house is in a lovely setting with Brecon town centre just 10 minutes away. My room was small but cosy and had everything I needed. Bathroom clean and well equipped, comfy bed. The food was plentiful and delicious and staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't wish for more!

I've just returned from a two night stay. I've been on HF holidays and stayed at several properties, but this stay was on a B&B basis only and my first time at this establishment. The welcome could not have been better and throughout my stay all the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfasts were excellent with table service and...

we are in the attic with gables that pose a challenge for someone 6'3". Food is so so but the bathroom with no shower and no surround and a wood floor...not tile..is unacceptable. The room is large enough, however. Everyone is friendly and pleasant which helps.

An excellent location with very approachable & efficient managers. Great food. The whole place was spotless. And a lovely indoor swimming pool too! Course we had some Welsh weather but plenty of heat to dry your clothes.

My friend and I had a four night break in June 2014. It was a guided walks holiday and the three guides we had were superb, and the walks were wonderful, all in lovely weather. However, the food was appalling. I asked for vegetarian meals- the first nights risotto was the consistency of ambrosia creamed rice, with some curry powder....

We had a twin room overlooking the garden. It was clean warm and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, did have a shower over the bath so would not suit anyone with a disability. Plenty of hot water & big bath towels. The food for breakfast & dinner was plentiful & tasty with good choices. There was a walking tour...

This may suit a walking group but the term 'butlinlike' used by other reviewers is too kind to describe the 'garden annexe' - a hut with numerous rooms, thin walls, wood chip, bendy floors and antiquated bathrooms. We misheard the orders for breakfast and arrived after 9am to be told 'all closed'. To be fair, muttering about Internet reviews provoked...

We stayed for a week on an HF Holidays walking holiday. Like all HF houses I have been to (4 in total), food was superb and rooms clean and spacious. Friendly staff in a well managed house. I do wish reviewers who insist on doing these places down because they are full of walkers, would do their homework! You know...

The main building of this hotel is an old house, converted into a hotel. The house itself is a little tired looking, could do with decorating bad freshening up. There is an annexe in the grounds, with another half dozen rooms, as well as a separate swimming pool and retreat, for massages and treatments. The hotel is used by HF...
