I might be old fashioned but always reassuring to be seated in restaurant on comfortable chairs, crisp linen tablecloth and crisp white serviettes. Went for Sunday carvery lunch. Was served and looked after by two very efficient, friendly and obviously European staff. Sunday

Avoid room no:44 at all costs, sold as double room but bed only 4ft, totally unsuitable for a couple + very uncomfortable pillows. On the positive side, breakfast good, and overall ambience of hotel very nice.

Dog friendly? I don't know, I didn't see any dogs in there - luckily as I don't like dogs in restaurants.

I think so.... but we stayed in a 'cottage' which certainly was. It was excellent. Check-out the web site (it was so good we are going back in 2 weeks!)

T4 bus goes Cardiff-Brecon, the hotel is walkable from any of the towns bus stops
