Excellent location and a warm welcome from the owners which is not always the case when you are with a group of 16 boys. Students and myself made to feel right at home and shown to our rooms. Rooms well equipped and comfy and a lovely breakfast the next morning (freshly cooked with a choice as well). Even got to...

Great location, friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was excellent on both days! We were in a twin with shared bathroom but it was very clean and great value. Beds were a little uncomfortable but we are both 6'2". Would have no problem recommending this place if you are looking for somewhere which is good value!

My Wife and I and my Son and his Fiance stayed at the Beacons overnight on Saturday 17th January.2014. All I can say is what a lovely place it is. It doesn't feel like a Hotel, its a Home from home with all of your home comforts. We arrived before Lunch fearing that we would be told our rooms were...

I stay in a lot of a hotels for work (mostly in London, the big chains etc) and, in comparison, The Beacons falls a little short in some respects. But to make such a comparison misses the point. Ok, so some parts are little tired (I prefer 'characterful'), the en-suite in my room wasn't heated.... But at this price and...

Stayed 1 night with my partner early December whilst travelling around the Brecon Beacons and climbing Pen y Fan. Good location - easy access to the Brecon town and a good base for travelling to various other locations in the Brecon area. I have given it a 4 as overall it was a pleasant B&B..and in compassion to other B&B's...

Close to the town centre and on the road out to the Brecon Beacons this makes for a good location for walkers. It's clean and also provides a good breakfast and plenty of off street parking which is accessed from the rear of the property

Stayed here on business. Owners were not in but left key out for me and directions. Owner, Melanie very friendly. I had a room with twin beds, EnSuite, TV & coffee making facilities. I think some rooms have to share toilets. 17th Century house with wooden beams in rooms. Very comfortable. Full English Breakfast offered. Highly recommended.

On arrival we were pleased to find off-street parking, with a back entrance. Our welcome was friendly and efficient, with recommendations for dinner at the Tipple and Tiffin ,which served excellent food. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom adequate, breakfast good and served efficiently by the owners' son. We were able to visit the town easily on foot.

Due to my wife using a walking stick we required ground floor accommodation. Melanie put us into a family unit out the back which was really spacious and the en-suite was huge. Breakfast was above the average and we found the service from the staff very good and always pleasant.there is plenty of onsite private parking at the rear and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beacons was once a riverside farm and the 17th Century barns and cottages still remain. The front part of the building was added in the early 1700's and the house has changed little - apart from modern comforts and decor. The original spiral staircase, moulded ceilings and even the meat cellar (now a cosy bar) all add to the character and atmosphere of this lovely home. ... more   less
