Premier Inn Swansea Waterfront Hotel is lauded for its prime location, with guests appreciating the proximity to attractions and the city's waterfront. While opinions on value fluctuate, some guests consider parking and meal deals to be economical. The hotel's cleanliness and comfortable beds receive positive remarks, though the atmosphere is sometimes described as lacking in modernity.
Noise can be an issue, with reports of disturbances from external sources and corridors. The service stands out, with many finding staff friendly and efficient, despite occasional negative experiences. Amenities are deemed adequate, although updates are suggested for both amenities and rooms.

The Swansea Waterfront Premier Inn is conveniently located in the Marina Area of the city, with a handy Tesco Express located below. The room was of the usual good clean standard, although it is slightly dated as there are no USB sockets available and has a very small television. Reception is on the 1st floor but there are two lifts available.
Unfortunately my sleep was limited as you can clearly hear noise from bars across the Marina, with the hotel windows making little difference to block it out. The curtains are also quite short (e.g. not the full length ones you find in some Premier Inns) so don't block fully block out light coming in. The lights in my room also rattled loudly when anyone in the room above moved about.
There are two car parks on either side of the hotel which cost ÂŁ6.20 for 24 hours through Ringo.

Warm welcome from reception. Room as expected from Premier Inn. Website advised about scaffolding (due to windows being replaced) and also advised the rooms would be getting an upgrade when windows complete.
This is a city location and you must bear this in mind when booking. When windows are being replaced work starts at 8am (also on website) this didn't happen during our break 27 - 30 Dec. However, there was early noise from refuse collection and a delivery, though not excessive. It was peaceful at night time.
Extra pillows are provided if required. You will have to ask for a mat for the shower if required. Rooms are only cleaned/towels replaced during your stay if you ask at reception. Tea/coffee not automatically replenished - this is available at reception to pick up as required. Basically if anything is needed reception are helpful.
Breakfast is served at the Beefeater attached. Continental and cooked available. The cooked is kept warm and is better than what we've had at another budget chain. Our evening meal at Beefeater was spot on.
If you don't want to eat at the Inn, you are just a 10 - 15 min walk from the town Whetherspoons, Ask Italian and other eateries and pubs.
We were aware before our stay that car parking is ÂŁ6.00 for 24 hours (ÂŁ5.00 for 12 hours). As this was a winter stay we were on the car park for more than 12 hours overnight. Download the RingGo app is easier as you have to let your 24 hours run out before you add more time. You can use the app from anywhere. It costs 20p to use the app for each instance of parking.
Overall our stay was pleasant and we would go back.

My wife and i returned from a 2 night stay here today. agree the scaffolding wrapped around the entire building is unsightly , however it did not stop us having a great time.
The room was of the normal premier inn standard and offered us all we needed for our stay, with a nice powerful shower and lashings of hot water. All staff we encountered were friendly and offered a great experience to make our stay fab!
As is normal for the brand breakfast was excellent also , we did not eat in the evening at the Beefeater restaurant during our stay, but we were in the bar before heading off to dinner last night and the restaurant was packed , we heard them turn away 3 sets of potential diners as they did not have reservations so it was a good sign that the restaurant is good / popular.
There is a carpark adjacent which only cost ÂŁ6 per 24 hrs so extremely good value in the scheme of things , and there are some interesting restaurants within 200 metres of the hotel, and the walk into Swansea city centre is around 600 metres so a very central location to visit this area.

Hotel is still covered in scaffolding even though work was completed months ago; this was confirmed by a manger. Also, was told that the landlord is responsible for the scaffolding and has done very little to get it removed. To be honest, Whitbread group who own Premier Inn are a massive company, so why is it that they cannot get the landlord to sort removal of the scaffolding. The view from our room is restricted, which I knew would be before booking, however, it was far worse then described on their information section of the hotel in their website area. Room is old, paint flaking in lots of places and walls have scratches in lots of areas and dirty in many places. Carpet is old, worn and bumpy in places. Bathroom has mould in tile grout in many places; grime in corners of the floor, especially around the toilet base and along bath floor line. Again, paint flakes and scratches on the bathroom floor. Shower was leaking at the shower head journey and bath mixer unit. TV is a 15inch size, not the normal larger screens you now get at majority of premiere inns. The hair drier was old and with powerless, totally inadequate for use. The area outside the front and side )where tables are) of the hotel is littered and dirty; I stayed for 4 nights and same litter was still there when I left and noted additional litter had accumulated.
The beefeater did not have enough staff for main meals and especially breakfast time. The food was not up to the standard I’ve eaten at premier inns. The back screens in the kitchen where the cooks receive orders we’re stuck full of dirt where the grease had accumulated. The kitchen looked like it was not kept tidy during cooking and you could see cleanliness was not paid attention to.
The quality of the food when we got it was not to the standards Premier Inn advertise; the fries arrived cold, the coleslaw was tasteless and the ribs were below average and not the succulent tasteful experience they describe. I did tell the staff about the fries and coleslaw, and they replaced the fries with hot ones, though they said there is nothing they can do about the coleslaw, as it arrives pre-made and the ribs were replaced with no better results. In short, the experience of eating at this beefeater fell way short of other Premier Inn restaurants I’ve eaten at and there have been loads, as I stay at Premiere Inn all the time.
My recommendation is not to stay at this Premier Inn until they’ve resolved everything.

Disabled room 210, boiling hot with zero ventilation. Unable to open window (see image). Open door to room it felt like an oven, blast. Outdoor temperature between 64 an 68 Fahrenheit. Hot all night, even with fan borrowed from reception. We are guessing the room must be over the laundry to make it so hot in comparison to the corridor. Room smelly, musty, old shoes odour, probably due to no ventilation. Build up of muck on bathroom floor against the walls. Feels unclean. Loo paper was very low in the dispenser. Maid service refused to restock or give us a bit to tide us through 3 nights stay. So we had to ask for extra at reception. Television is tiny (see image distance from bed). Ver poor audio. The room is necessarily large to accommodate wheelchair. Requires larger TV screen.

We have stayed at this premier inn on the waterfront numerous times over a number of years. Plus points -convenient chargeable parking. Typical premier inn rooms. Onsite restaurant. Relatively local to Swansea city center and drive outs to the mumbles and gower. Staff are usually pleasant.
On this occasion though, for £125 for one night it really didn’t feel value for money at all.
2 people - one night, 2 teabags, 2 coffee, 4 tiny milks.
The rooms on the last few visits feel dated - curtains not hanging properly, old grubby carpets, the bathroom showing damp patches and old vinyl Lino flooring. Where once they had their own soap dispensers, now Baylis and Harding pump bottles in their place.
Since Covid, no purple accessories. Was a signature look which was neither good nor bad but without it, it could be same as travelodge but travelodge, same kind of standard rooms, is cheaper,
Onsite restaurant is beefeater. Expensive and limited menu on a Saturday evening for what isn’t even elevated pub grub. We ordered a side of garlic prawns. We got that. But 2 prawns siting in a ramekin of rocket. For £4.99. Overcooked, rubber texture, little flavour.
The bar staff were pleasant, friendly and hard working- the lady with multi coloured hair was very professional. No point complaining to them as it’s the company that isn’t investing in its own reputation.
For the same price we could have stayed at the worms head / great views…

Nice location down by marina, 5 minute walk to other bars and eateries and a 10/15 walk into Swansea center. The room was standard Premier Inn spec with comfy beds and pillows but a very minimal view from the window partially caused by scaffolding which encases the hotel and has been up over 12 months. There are options on the Wi-fi, one is free and a paid option and we didn't notice a massive difference between the two. There is an on site Beefeater where you can get a paid breakfast and food throughout the day. Breakfast was buffet style with all you can eat and we found the quality very good. Staff were helpful and polite and coped well when there was a rush. There is no free car parking but there is a car park on either side of the hotel, it only costs ÂŁ6.00 for 24 hours, pay machines didn't seem to work with cash so you need to down load an app, this might be daunting to some people but was easy enough. The car park is nothing to do with Premier inns. There is a small Tesco at the end of the hotel and a large Sainsbury's a 5/10 min walk away across the marina.

Even though we live in Swansea we chose to stay here over night so we could celebrate New Years Eve without driving. On arrival via lift to first floor where reception is we were met in reception by very pleasant member of staff who gave us our room card and booked our breakfast slot for the morning On entering the room on the 2nd floor we looked out of window to a view of carpark and bars and to the left the Marina. Yes there is scaffolding up all around the building but we knew this on booking, the reception was telling other people the cladding is all being replaced and new windows. This didn't spoil our stay here. You can hear music from the bars but this was New Years Eve but to be fair it went quiet after 12. In the room there is Double bed Sofa Dressing table Hair dryer with light up mirror by it Place to hang clothes Kettle, tea and coffee supplied but probley only enough for one cup each but you can get more from reception if needed. Spare pillows Ensuite with shower over bath with 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and floor mat supplied. Television
Breakfast is on the ground floor in the Beefeater Restaurant, we had a time slot of 9.15. We were met by a very polite member of staff who showed us to our table, We had paid for full breakfast but you can book just continental. This was very good value for full breakfast as the choices were endless: Cereal, toast, pastries, yogurts, fruits, choice of marmalade, jam etc, pancakes, sausages, bacon, fried eggs, scrabbled eggs, tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, fruit juices etc and tea/coffee It started to get busy as we were finishing but the tables were spread out. Very good value breakfast and a pleasant night stay. Only comment I would have is to put a socket by each side of bed for phones charging etc.

Terrible smell of burnt grilled food on arrival. Young girl on reception clearly didn't want to be there. I can't fault the room it was comfy but... on arriving home I realised I had left my expensive hair straighteners there and I called many times but nobody answers the phone. Eventually the day after, someone did and said they hadn't been handed in (surprise surprise).. she said she would check and call me back but didn't. I called again and got a slightly more helpful lady who did a more thorough check of lost property and the safe and said she would ask housekeeping the next day and get back to me. No one has done so obviously they haven't been handed in. So, to the cleaner of room 306 on 28th Dec, enjoy my straighteners and I hope they don't burn your hair.

This Premier Inn has had some quite bad reviews however I am unable to agree with them. Whilst the rooms are quite old fashioned and would certainly benefit from a refurbishment we found them reasonably clean and the bed comfortable. The old Samsung 16 inch TV mounted in the wardrobe area was not ideal it was watchable. There where no stale smells referred to by others though occasionally in the corridor you could smell steak cooking in the Beefeater situated on the ground floor. It was also handy to have a Tesco Express below. The only two negatives where the fact that the building is still covered in scaffolding though any work was completed months ago and the only parking is in public car parks each side of the building which have no CCTV and little lighting so I was a little concerned at the security of my car. We however stayed two nights mid week and had no issues. If I visited Swansea again I would probably not stay here but only because of the poor security in the car parks.

Hi, we were at the hotel last week and all of the protective wrap had been removed and they were starting to remove the scaffolding so you should now have a decent view
There are more places to choose from in the Swansea area.
