We booked afternoon tea for early February since our son had bought gift vouchers for this very purpose. Absolutely no complaints re the afternoon tea and excellent service, however, it was disappointing to be handed a bill for service charge. Surely this could be included in the gift token charge. It does leave a bad taste when you assume the...

A superb hotel. Stylish, polished and a hint of old grandeur. If you are looking for a special treat, a celebratory occasion or just first class accommodation and service, stay here. Very central, helpful staff and a good mix of bars and food.

My husband had surprised me with dinner treat on Saturday evening. We stayed in the hotel a few years back which we loved. The Merchant has that ' something else' feeling. I was looking forward to dinner I was disappointed in the menu choice. I am happy to try new tastes and flavours. However, I'm not a great fish lover....

Just brilliant and a hotel which has great service , a fine bar and super breakfasts. The rooms are wonderfully eccentric , well equipped , great bathrooms , large beds , interesting bedroom pictures but you just wonder what the designers were thinking on the day they met to agree the spec. Try it you will likely love it.

We stayed for our second visit in this luxury boutique hotel. Well trained staff. Especially good upmarket cocktail bar - ignore the price; just taste the quality and expertise at work there! Our bedroom was in the Art Deco part of hotel this time - previously we had stayed in one of the Victorian rooms. We preferred it this time...

The Merchant Hotel offers a unique experience from the staff who personify Irish hospitality to the quirky opulence of the immaculately refurbished former bank building. The Great Hall provides a magnificent setting for dining and the food and service do not disappoint. Ideally located for exploring Belfast and the nightlife of the Cathedral Quarter. I would recommend the cocktails and...
