Swan lodge is advertised as being close to downpatrick with easy access to the city. In reality it is in the middle of nowhere. In a very rural setting. This may suit some but it was not what we had been looking for. On arrival Liz greeted me and showed me the rooms which were very tacky (antiques and swans... More

To begin ---- one must say what delightful couple run Swan Lodge. No expense has been spared on comfort for guests, fabulous bedrooms, bathrooms & furnishings. Excellent breakfast served. Slightly off the beaten track but if you want comfort and a good nights sleep then do not pass Swan Lodge.

The Swan Lodge is a magical place located off St. Patrick's Road, in the charming, super-quiet countryside near Downpatrick and it's by far the best B&B at which we've stayed during our Irish road trip. The house and the garden are stunning and the rooms are cozy and well furnished, complete with swan-related names (we had the Penn) and a... More

This place seems to be one of a country chic houses magazine! It's extremely romantic and peaceful. It's owned by an old lovely couple. The breakfast is a homemade dream! We'll never forget our staying here.

Ourselves and another couple stayed overnight at the lodge during April '14 after participating in the "St.Patrick's Edurance ride" in Dwnptrk. On our arrival Liz & John were most welcoming, even kindly allowing us to fill their drive with our parked horseboxes and vehicles, followed by tea and yummy home made pavlova!! The rooms were lovely and clean and the... More

We stayed with Lis and John for the last week in their lovely home. Both are elderly and worked hard everyday to make you feel comfortable and at home. We loved every breakfast with so much variety and choice. The view every day was breath taking they live in a unique part of North Ireland with the statue of Saint... More

Found Liz's place about 6.30 at night when we were looking for somewhere to stay. We followed a sign off the main road and then up a long lane way. Liza opened us with open arms and had a wonderful room for us. She sent us down to the local Irish Pub for dinner which was also a step back... More

Liz the owner showed us to our room which was perfect for our needs, quiet and an amazingly comfortable bed. A keen sports fan Liz informed me about the latest... More
