My friends and I stayed here during a bus tour we were part of in Ireland. The staff was friendly and informative. Helpful in getting us familiar with the town and places to eat. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was very good and check in and check out process was very smooth.

We were delighted to visit the merchants house for the 2nd year running in July 2016. Again, Peter and Joan and their staff made us feel as welcome as they did the previous year. Special mention to the lovely Marie, who couldn't be more helpful during our stay. We love the accommodation itself, it's location and the amazing breakfast. We...

Loved the location!! Anywhere we wanted to go or visit was within walking distance. A nice change of pace to leave the car behind for a few days! Absolutely love this beautiful home with the original wood carvings and vaulted ceilings. Great breakfast, free parking, huge, quiet sitting area. Minutes away from Quay Street, Walled City, Bog Side, and several...

We spent a night at the Merchant House that was highly enjoyable. We arrived a bit early, but called Peter the owner, who came right over to greet us. He showed us our room, as well as the breakfast area and sitting room, both which were beautifully decorated and comfortable. The en suite bathroom, though tiny, more than met our...

Beautiful old home in the center of Derry with delightful furnishings and great breakfast. Can't beat the central location although parking in downtown is a bit of a challenge. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a very pleasant stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at short notice after pre-booked accom turned out unacceptable. Joan and Peter made us feel very much at home, and the house is packed full of character. Lovely breakfast with everything home-made, even the yogurt and marmalade. Would recommend and happy to stay again in the future.

A beautiful period house in the lovely city of Derry. Lovely welcome from Peter and Joan both of who were very helpful and couldn't do enough for their guests. Lovely room at the front of the house. Breakfasts were wonderful, a time when all guest get to sit together and chat which was lovely and not something you get often....

We stayed only one night but enjoyed our stay. Our room was small but charming in a shabby chic sort of way. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was too small, but I find that to be true in so many B and B's where bedrooms have had bathrooms added to make them en suite. This is an old property,...

We stayed here for one night and I am surprised by some of the recent comments. It is a B & B folks not a 5 star hotel. Our room was on the ground floor but we had the use of the first floor sitting room which was fabulous - reminded me of the family's living room at Alnwick Castle!...
