This is truly an unexpected hotel. It seems like a place out of the seventies in its atmosphere and decoration. But do not let it fool you. The food is excellent, the rooms very efficient and the staff pleasant and helpful. I recommend stopping there, even though Peterhead is not a great stopover.

I stayed at this hotel last night on business, when I arrived the staff were very attentive. I am not good with room on ground floor and reception staff were very good about moving me. Thank you for that. Room lovely and comfortable. Would say that the bathroom was rather small and the glass around the sink could be dangerous...

Very nice spacious rooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The area itself is away from peterhead but not too far. I used the conference facilities too and the service was great. Breakfast choices were adequate but the dinners weren't exceptional. highly recommended.

I went for lunch with a friend over the May holiday weekend, the hotel itself is very nice but the surrounding buildings are very shabby and off putting, our meal was nice but I felt there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu, the service was ok but felt it was expensive compared with other restaurants in the same...

I have to say a review of this hotel based on its rather dreary surroundings would be unfair indeed. There are several derelict and abandoned buildings in the vicinity and this detracts from the actual quality and refinement of the hotel's interior. The architecture is not very nice either but inside you are in a different world. The fittings and...

The hotel is attractive and modern inside. The room was lovely and it was probably the best sleep I've had in a hotel - very comfy bed, no noise and great dark curtains. The cooked breakfast great and staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The only downside, as other have mentioned, is that the exterior of the...

Stayed for a week on business. Customer service folks very helpful, hotel itself is very nice, and rooms are to a high standard - way, way above anything locally available, by a LONG way. Food is excellent. Room has come a long way since the buildings previous use as Officers Mess- very nicely fitted out, and the bed was comfortable....

I stayed at the Buchan Braes in August 2012, upon arrival I was told by the receptionist that they were very busy that evening, so I had been upgraded to a suite. Firstly great start to the stay, from there on staff were very attentive and made me feel very welcome to the hotel. The suite itself was very clean...

Impromptu decision to stop by for Sunday lunch after a bracing beach walk proved to be a good one. Service was excellent throughout, from the immediate cheery greeting to the efficient retrieval of coats from the cloakroom when we left. Although we didn't have a booking, we were made very welcome and seated in the comfortable lounge to peruse the...

This is a lovely hotel a little out of peterhead however it has it's own restaurant and bar which is perfect so you don't need to go anywhere. The food and drink is not particularly cheap but it is city prices and isn't ridiculous - £8 for 2 drinks. Rooms are lovely and extremely clean. Service is lovely. Staff are...
