This is a lovely place with a lot of character. We were made very welcome during our stay, food, wine, accommodation and amenities were wonderful. Price was very fair. THe breakfast buffet and a la carte menu were outstanding. The fire doors in the corridors seemed a bit dated and were a bit awkward to get through with luggage. Apparently...

A friend was getting married at the Carnoustie Golf Course Hotel, and they had booked a wedding package. My partner and I traveled over from Oslo, Norway, and stayed at the hotel from Friday to Sunday. After reading some of the rather unfair comments on TripAdvisor about the hotel I feel it is my duty to give an account of...

We had a lovely stay with a very comfortable room. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. The Hotel would benefit from a "makeover" as it is becoming a bit "tired". But, the staff more than made up for it.

Back at Carnoustie 18 months after last visit. Bar area has been refurbished although bit small for number of guests. Can't think of any negative things to say, bedroom was lovely, food in Dalhousie restaurant was fab. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to another visit next year when all refurbishments are finished

We spent last Saturday and Sunday at this hotel. We (4) had a nice time and as this is our 2nd time here we would come back again.. We had rooms overlooking the golf course which were very nice, only small complaint is the wooden surround around the sink in the bathroom needs rubbed down and varnished which makes it...

Enjoyed fabulous autumnal weather in a fabulous location, let down by frosty, unenthusiastic and unwelcoming hotel receptionists. Surprised they could barely raise a smile or share the enthusiasm shown but guests checking in and looking to enjoy the world famous golfing history 'linked' to this hotel. Got a good deal for our stay and other staff were younger and friendlier...

Upgraded to the Carnoustie Suite and we were completely underwhelmed! It was probably very fashionable in the 1980's but is now very sad and tired and somewhat scruffy.A huge disappointment. The hotel's location is fabulous and views across the golf course gorgeous but it really needs a major overhaul. The staff were all friendly and helpful and food was fairly...

Short break here, for romantic birthday weekend and golf. Room/suite was superb, couldn't be improved in any aspect. The food was of a very high quality too, with just a couple of reservations - the (younger) waiting staff all called us 'guys', which got a bit wearing, especially as they interrupted us every few minutes to ask if 'everything OK,...
