I cannot recommend this hotel enough for a warm welcoming reception, delicious meal and beautiful sea views from the conservatory style dining area. If I am passing this way again I'll definitely be going back!
The rooms could probably do with some refurb, but the friendliness, food and location made up for this. We loved the quirky furniture and artefacts and all the paintings by local artists. A really individual hotel. Food, cooked by Ian was great, everything with his...More

We enjoyed a 3 night break with our dog Roxie in the Argyll Hotel. Upon arrival I was left a little disappointed, the room was small and dark and long overdue a refurbishment. The shower cubicle had a large 'step' to access it which looked...More
Stayed here for business as I had a meeting in Campbeltown but fancied a rural hotel. They had good reviews on TripAdvisor and that's a pretty good benchmark.
I arrived after playing the wonderful Machrihanish Golf course and in good spirits. I was met by...More
Really nice hotel on the beach, very dog friendly. Dog allowed everywhere except conservatory restaurant. Couple who run it have two friendly Dalmatians. Beer, food and apparently the gin (wife's comment) are very good. Rooms clean and well presented. The area is great for both...More

Hi Elizabeth - we are very dog friendly and your dog would be welcome in all public areas of the hotel except the conservatory restaurant area - however, you can eat in the bar area with your dog. If the weather is good you can also eat outside on the beachside terrace. More details on our website. All the best Nick

It will be great to see / meet you. You are very welcome in the hotel. As you will know we are dog friendly and your dog is welcome in all areas of the hotel other than the restaurant area when we are serving food. You can however eat in the bar or out on the terrace (weather permitting!). If you want to eat it is always advisable to book (even if eating in the bar or outside). I'm really sorry I'm not well informed about other dog friendly places in the area - but there a re a wealth of beaches and good walks to be had. I know you can sit outside at the Ferry Farm tearoom in Taiynloan, by the Gigha ferry terminal. There is also outdoor seating at the Black Sheep pub (part of the Royal Hotel) with nice views across Campbeltown Loch.
All the best
