We loved our stay here. The hotel was quiet and the staff were superb. Food was excellent and the room was very good. Nice pool and steam room too and there was ample free parking. We will definitely be back.

Older hotel that has been renovated. Great location on Corran Esplanade with beautiful views of Oban Bay and walking distance to downtown.Rooms are good sized. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Buffet breakfasts that was pretty standard.
Everything about this holiday was amazing The hotel the food the staff the position of the hotel the cleanliness and attention to detail there is nothing negative to say Thank you to everyone who works here
We had a sea view room for two nights whilst travelling on the West Highland Line for a birthday celebration. The hotel is at the "town" end of the Corran Esplanade between two churches, so easy to find. We arrived just after 3pm and were checked in by helpful staff. They explained the times and use of the pool and breakfast and dinner times, offering to book us in. I explained that we are vegan so would go exploring the town. The receptionist advised that they did not believe there were options for vegans at the hotel so if we had plans already, they wouldn't try to dissuade us. It's refreshing to have honesty! Our room was on the first floor so we took the stairs. The room was spacious and very clean, with plenty of tea and coffee. No plant milk, which is an easy win and all hotels should do! The bathroom was a little dated but it isn't a new hotel. Everything worked as it should. Plenty of storage if you were staying longer, with an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, along with a safe and a hairdryer. Housekeeping attended and changed the towels and made the bed. Lovely, well done job, but we would have been happy to re-use the towels! There was a lot of reading material about the hotel group and we'd have preferred a little more about the area we were in, but there was a well stocked tourist information stand in the reception hall. We knew this was an old building and expected the usual noises you get in 100+ year old properties. But if someone told me there were stories of ghosts in the hotel, I'd listen to them! The bed was large and very comfortable. We settled down and fell asleep easily. I woke up in the early hours to hear the floorboards on the other side of the bed creaking and turned over to see why my partner was up. He was sound asleep. Then the floorboards on my side of the bed started creaking. I put the lights on and all went quiet. A few minutes later, it started again. The room was cold, but that may have been due to the rain and wind that evening? The following night we were undisturbed until 4am, when the creaking started again. We didn't see anything untoward, but have no explanation as to why it sounded as though the room was being walked around in the night. Aside from the odd floorboard noises, we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again. …
This hotel is situated on the sea front at Oban, with its own parking in front and behind. It is well appointed and there is pool and spa. It has a sun lounge overlooking the waterfront and a large restaurant. Our rooms were warm and clean, well appointed and an interesting fusion of different styles. The restaurant has a good range of dishes, including some delicious curries as well as British food. My room was comfortable and quiet and I slept very well - I would stay again if I am in Oban.
Picked this Hotel by chance for 2 night stay with a friend. Great choice of Hotel well priced, clean, tidy and well maintained. Room excellent and staff incredibly helpful and polite. Beautiful swimming pool . Food excellent. Will be back .
The location is lovely the town of oban is great, the boat trip was fantastic. The hotel on the other hand was not the cleanest, the chairs in the dinning room were covered in dried food and stains. The room itself was fine for what we needed it for but it was not cleaned the three days we were there, the bed covers were just tucked back in to make the bed look neat didn't straighten the sheets underneath. The towels were just not changed just folded and put back on the heater. The shower had terrible water pressure couldn't move the shower head forward so it stays just like a trickle trying to wash yourself under. The staff are friendly enough. The breakfast is awful half cooked eggs, chewy hash browns and potato scones and don't think your going to get a hot cup of coffee as its luke warm when you pour it and cold by the time you get to the table. The pool is great unless u want to go for a swim on a Monday when it is closed but you will not find that information anywhere unless you book through their own website otherwise you will not know and we booked this hotel especially for the pool. The restaurant is over priced for very small portions that we're over cooked. If the staff were better trained and they clean the place alot better then maybe would think about returning but no I would not recommend staying here.…
Was I staying somewhere else. Muthu Alexandra Oban was outstanding. Our room No. 27 on second floor was phenomenal. My sister did tell me later we'd paid extra for the view. Totally worth it. Two widows looking over sea and oban main street. The room was warm but not too warm. The beds were comfortable. The curtains were beautiful. The shower was one of best I've ever had in a hotel. Adjustable temperature and the spray was amazing. 4 plug points and comfortable seating area. Adequate tea, coffee making facilities with short bread and hot chocolate. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely. Friendly but not too in your face friendly. Can't wait to go back. Loved everything about it. Used pool once but only because we didn't have time to use it anymore.
