My wife took me for Father's Day afternoon tea - only a day late! - and it was a real treat. The setting of this lovely house is beautiful and relaxing. Our afternoon tea was excellent in every respect. This was our first visit there following recommendations from friends and it certainly will not be the last. I cannot on...

Dinner for two on a Friday night (didn't stay, but want to now!), from the moment we arrived (our fist visit) we were made to feel special, being met at the hotel entrance and being shown to the restaurant table is a really nice touch. The menu is not overly extensive but has a good mix of meet and fish...

We went to celebrate a special birthday and had the Sunday evening Tasting experience - amazing. We were greeted at the door, shown to the room my mum was staying in, then taken to the bar for apperitifs, before being taken to the dining room for the main part of the evening. Fantastic food - lovely wines to complement every...

From other reviews of similar locations, keen readers will know by now that I am an Afternoon Tea aficionado; so I was extremely keen to experience the offering (via voucher) here at this 4 Star hotel. Even as a local, it was the first time I had been to Cringletie and with the much lauded food and presentation, we anticipated...

We recently had three nights in Cringletie House, what a beautiful charming place to stay! We loved the rooms (had the Kelso) and loved it has a lift. We found the staff very welcoming, helpful and very friendly but professional. The way they do the dining at night, with drinks in the lounge first with canapés, then into the dining...

Being welcomed by the proprietor/manager is a rarity these days and the courtesy and service in so doing was excellent. This was the 5th hotel in 5 nights and the most expensive at £205 for B&B. I appreciate it wasn't the most expensive room but it was at the very top of the hotel and whilst clean and comfortable, it...

We enjoyed our two-day stay at Cringletie House very much. Located in its own extensive grounds a couple of miles outside Peebles, this imposing hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Borders. Our Classic Double room – “Jedborough” – on the ground floor was well appointed, with a sizeable and comfortable bed and views across the...
